I stopped at red/blue/yellow a long time ago :( . It took me 60 hrs to get all 150 (or was it 151?) pokemons!!!:o (*Connect transfer... turn off both GB at the same time!!!* :x)
But I am considering playing the newer once just for the hell of it.

You know that you don't have to actually OWN a Pokemon for it to count as owned right? So long as you had it in your possession at some point it will permanantly stay listed as owned.

Yes, i know that :|
The pokemon games have ALWAYS been "time fillers", the sort of game where if you have nothing better to do throw out a few Mon' and Moves.
And Some people like to actually COLLECT all the pokemon, not just own them.
Just as there are different trainers in the game there are diferent types in real life.
Im a Collector / Richboy / Battler.
Other people collect only bugs, or trade only.
In the end though the main thing about pokemon is being "better" than your friends and having multiplayer battles.
I still play but only in the odd moments.
