There is still a bit of a shortage. Reserving one helps.
I couldn't find one for the longest time either. The only places I ever see them are at Blockbuster or chain music stores. They had about 25 at HMV last time I was there.
there had been a huge shortage where I live in michigan, but now there are plenty, you could just ask for one at the store. Good thing I've had mine for 4 months now! and the game I still play most is Wii sports (7.5 my butt GS)
yea i got my wii a long time ago but i had to steel it from a kid who forgot his wallet :(
there still impossible to find around here after 12 in the afternoon, i have only seen about 10 wiis from tthe time i got mine :p

there was a kid who was number 75 in line on launch and the store had 75 units...and some one cut infront of him (the store handled this poorly) and the kid left crying. i giggled on the inside, but i also felt bad he lost it to some guy who showed up 2mins before they handed tickets out.
I got really lucky with my wii, my mom was at a costco store, and they just got some in stock, so she got it. I was so surprised when she walked through the front door with it.
People here still wake up at 6 and stay awake till the stores open to get one. but i would say check Toys R' us only lil kids go there perfect place to pick up a ps3/wii
my friends went there on ps3 launch date like 10 hours after launch and still found one!
I looked for one for like a month but I finally got lucky when a new Wal mart opened up where I lived and they had managed to hoard like 200 for their grand opening.
I bought a used one in a place where they also trade old consoles for vouchers. I sold my Xbox and with the vouchers I got a Wii for 100 euros or so. :)

i started my wii hunt dec. 26 and didnt get one till feb. 11
OMG it isn't impossible. I have passed up the opprotunity to purchase one many times. Twice at WALMART and they had about SIX of them in stock!! Once at Hastings and they only had one in stock. Then there is the internet. If I were you I would go to Walmart every week once or thrice with the money. Eventually you would be in the position to buy one and if that fails try ebay. Seriously if you can't get one one at Walmart, other retailers, or the internet you are DEE DEEDEE.
when i went to my local target today they had like 8 wii's

I agree that they must be getting easier to find. I saw five at my local Target today. It was the first time I have ever seen any Wiis sitting on a store's shelf.
I was lucky enough to reserve one and get it launch day, but I've noticed that most stores in the area still do not have any units on the shelves. It seems a little insane to me that nearly a year after launch and people are still scrounging for them...
I'v ehad mine since launch, but one thing i noticed is that you have to buy one at a no name or smaller store. One that people don't expect. K-mart, Zellers, Costco, No Frills Super Store (Only the super store not the regular ones), and smaller gaming stores that are smaller than microplay.
Check those places, and i'm sure you will come across one sooner or later.
Yeah, out of all the game consoles I have known, I never have witnessed this bad of a shortage from one of them. Even in my hometown, there's a pretty big shortage of them. I was fortunate to grab one myself. If I were you, i'd call every store and ask when they think they'll recieve the shipments, and when they do, i'd check with them. If they don't have it yet, check everyday. Or, like everyone else said, just reserve one.
I work at Best Buy in Alabama and we usually get a shipment of 6 or 7 every week at it takes a few days usually to sell them all. I could easily buy one if I wanted. But I've already got one...
Not totally impossible. I was shocked when I saw a Nintendo Wii at my local Target, and two of them at Fred Myer a few days ago. It will begin to get impoossible for another few months (at least) with the holiday season around the corner.
