I have had the game since Saturday. Its very good. The controls are spot on and responsive. I never played the ps2 or xbox version  ( which has online play and has been out for 10 months ), so for me this is a new experience. this is the best MK game i have ever played. Its fast and fun. The Wiimote is perfect for the special moves and fatalities.

LOL, i was never very good at fatalities on any MK game. On this one, when the time comes, i just wave the wiimote like a mad man and press a couple of buttons to try to set one off. I managed to rip off someones arms once. The fatalities are set up a little differently in this game....you start the fatality and then a timer comes up...you have to execute each part of the fatality, which can go on for several moves...its not like the old ones where you input a bunch of button presses and then watch the fatality...you have to actually do the whole thing.

I don't think there are any character specific fatalities. There weren't in the PS2 version, at least.

What are the controls?

Are they good for Newcomers or people who are not fighting games fan's(like could someone who does not really play many Fightings be able to pull off combos easy)?

Example ? Well its pretty easy to play based on my brother. He was all against the idea of the wiimote and was giving me a hard time about it. Five minutes after i talked into playing, he was kicking my butt.

Basically you use the nunchuck for movement, jumping, blocking, changing fighting style. The wii mote you use the D pad for normal fighting moves; high and low punches and kicks. The A button is for grabbing. To do the special moves, just hold the B button and wave the wiimote in a semi circle, up/down or left right or variations , then release the B button when you finish the motion. But you can do the motions quickly and link moves together. It just feels right...the game moves very fast, yet you are able to execute all the moves very effeciently.

I waved the remote wildly and made Raiden rip a guys head off and hold it high above his own head.  I don't know the fatalities, but they cant be that hard if they can be set off randomly.

The controls for the super moves are easy.  As above the nunchuck and remote controls, and supers are done only with the remote.  You arc it in a semi circle either top hemisphere or bottom hemisphere.  And some moves are clockwise and some are counter clockwise motion.  Next style is shake the remote left then right, or right then left.  And after that you can shake the remote up then down, or down then up.  Each one will do different moves depending on the character chosedn, but those basic movements covers all the supers in teh game.  You have to hold B while doing the motions also.  It doesnt tell you that in training, unless you watch the extra video they put in there.

Those motions also cover the fatality moves.

I believe the guy lied to you :p I just picked up MK:A and Mario Party 8 at Wal Mart when i was on break from work, too bad I have 45 minutes to go until i get home to play them..I picked up an extra wiimote so the family can join in, too. Man, my Wii is breaking me this month! Hah, just when I thought about selling my Wii because it was gathering dust! I don't predict next month to be too much different, either (The bigs, Scarface) :D
