I was wondering if anyone here has an imported DS. If you do, how to do play your games with the imported DS.

All the ds are region free which means they can play any region.

I tend to move around a lot (lived in the US and UK the last two years) and am currently in Mexico City and games from all 3 are fine with my US DS. Also my DSi connects with the US DSi shop wherever I am. I guess cost and possibly the content of the DSi Shop are the only reasons to consider importing - you can just import games from Japan if you want and pay them on the DS you already have. Be careful with voltage though! Nothing worse (I imagine) than having your beloved new DS blow up on you

There's nothing significantly different about an imported DS. Some colors may be different (I have an Enamel Navy DS Lite, and a Green DSi, both from Japan). They are all region free, which means they'll play games from any country. The one thing I'll have to warn you is that the Japanese DSi's only have Japanese has the system language (unless they've changed it recently?)

Is there a specific reason why you're importing one?

i have an european DS, and it runs perfectly any game from any region. the DSi, though, will only play DSi enhanced and DSi exclusive games from it's region (but it still plays regular DS games from any region)

my little nephew has an euro ds and it plays all my "american" games so I guess its not big deal, the only real difference is the voltage but it just needs an adapter..

Using a local lead is also an option. A Japanese model will take the plug made for the UK models without issue and vice versa. The DSL is quite versatile like that.
