It's already been banned in the UK and will be given an Adults Only rating in the US.  Assuming the appeals don't go through does this spell doom for Manhunt 2?  The UK already said violence runs so deep into the game that it would be impossible to change it without changing the game entirely.  Could it be cancelled?  In what capacity can it be put on the market?

This is just publicity, I think the game will sell well. You gotta remember, its also coming out for the system with the largest install base ever, ps2. plenty of adults have that system to buy the game on.

Also, the rockstar name sells games to an extent, that helps. don't be worried about the game's future. and the 16 year olds who want it, they usually find ways to get it, i think

I hope it sells really good, even with an AO rating. That way they'll (developers) make more mature games for the Wii.

I'm getting it because it looks like a well done game. I also enjoy the fact that I'm supporting the Mature audience behind the Wii. I cant wait

It won't sell tremendously, no, but it has a ton of hype now. As long as it gets some more good ratings, it'll be a cult classic at worst. I don't think Rockstar was trying to make an accessible game that would sell to everybody, otherwise it wouldn't have...all the things it has. It's meant for the extreme crowd, and none of them have left (well except Europe I suppose...)

Seeing as Editing the game down to a M rating is not likely (too much of the game would have to be toned down or changed that it would not be the same game), i hope it does.

But at a AO rating, sotre like wal-mart will not stock it because its against their "Moral Policy", Sale's will suffer.

Well any game with an AO rating wont' have a future on the wii.

More free advertisment, if this keeps up, Manhunt 2 will be on everyones must buy list, if manhunt 2 sells well expect mature games to flood the system.

Nintendo's neither selling nor licensing it, so that doesn't matter.

As long as it can be sold in Japan and North America, it'll still do extremely well.
It's too bad for England though, really. They'll send a young man out to war, but they won't let him play a violent videogame. Kind of doesn't make sense to me.

Hm, the game could be in major trouble of the AO rating does happen, but I'm not sure.  I have low interest to begin with, but I hope that games like Resident Evil 4 and Manhunt 2 do well on the Wii.  I'm not saying I want to support cheap ports, but I want the good developers behind these games to want to come back to the Wii.

I can't name an AO game that sold well. Then again I can't name an AO game period. No one has ever released a high profile game with an AO rating. I don't think anyone can say for certain how well it would sell.
