Just curious, because that would be great. Also, recent Metroid games have been at 60fps, and Team Ninja games tend to be 60fps (also Nintendo games).

I saw this video which looked 60fps, but you can edit videos to 60fps using some technique, so has anyone got any confirmation?

Video here.

You might be able to see, the video is a lot smoother than other videos.

I can't find any confirmation that it will be 60FPS, however I think it will. They seem to be going for a lot of polish, so having it run at 60FPS locked would be a great and it seems most of the big Nintendo games always run at 60FPS.

Yeah I'm thinking it will as well but will it being in 2D make a difference?

It's not a 2D game...

2D would benefit more with 60fps. It's not exactly 2D, but it does have a lot of fast sidescrolling action which might feel choppy at 30fps.

I always thought most Nintendo First-party games run smooth and usually at 60 fps? I hope so! Because Other M seems like a really fast-paced, action-oriented game. I'd hate for it to be all choppy and laggy.

I agree with most people here that it will likely run at 60 fps. I can;t imagine Nintendo and Team Ninja would let it be any other way!

Except Zelda, most are. Last gen Mario Sunshine was 30fps, but Wii versions are all 60fps.

Maybe SS will be in 60fps? Did the demo look like it?

Hard to tell from online videos, most videos are around 30fps. I wouldn't think so though.

While I don't know officially it really does look to be 60fps. Can't tell from videos though.

I wish they would give the 60fps thing a break. Just leave it at 30fps, and it will be fine. Imagine how much better it would look. I dont mean to hate but the Wii is using lastgen hardware and most games ran at 30fps. Its not like the Wii is that much stronger so they should stop the 60fps thing. IDK it kinda of bugs me.

How much more power could you squeeze into a game by making it 30fps instead of 60fps? RAGE is arguably the best looking console game technically, and it also runs at 60fps.

Smooth animation is part of good visuals. It's not like reducing the framerate will save processing power for so much more details and effects.

Mario Galaxy runs at 30 fps according to many gaming sites. That was revealed long before the launch. Anyway will 60 fps make you have more fun playing a game?

SMG runs at 60fps not 30fps. This has already been stated by Nintendo, and no in most cases that ive experience 60fps doesnt make a game any more fun :P

Well if it makes you happier, SS will most likely be in 30fps like every other Zelda game. Lets see what Nintendo can squeeze into it, with the added power in the following months.

Eh? What kind of fun experience more fps gives you when playing an adventure game? We are not talking about FIRST PERSON SHOOTERS.

meh idk go ask nintendo why they wanted 60fps. ill admit that it looks nice to have smooth animation like in Galaxy at 60fps, but in a game like metroid where everything is so fast, most people wont be paying attention.

I think its safe to assume that the game will run at 60FPS. All of the big 3 Nintendo games run at 60 FPS. They're showcases for the company and the hardware, so it would be a kick in their own teeth if they didn't.

Because it's so fast, that's exactly why a smooth 60fps would make a big difference.
