Compared with the original, SMG2 seems a bit worse. It borrows many elements from the first game and a lot of levels just don't seem as fun.I remember SMG having better music and more original and interesting level design. I am only about 4 hours in with around 25 stars, so I ask you, does it get better later on?

In the beginning it does seem slow and unorigional, but as you progress, it gets much better and becomes addictive.

Man give the game time. It seems these they everyone complains about everything. If the game is a sequel people complains, if a serie is reimagined people complains, If the change the old gameplay system people complains. People are never satisfied.

I do feel ya bro. 28 stars in, there has been some new things. However, a lot of things is stuff I've already seen. Nevertheless I still have the motivation to play it, but uh, I'm leaning towards the first one to the better title...so far at least.

The thing about this game is that it seems to slowly build upon itself. Yes, when I was pretty early into the game, it did in fact seem like it was a bit too much "more of the same." It was good, but not quite as good as I had hoped, even for early missions. But as it goes along, it starts pulling away from that, adding more and more new ideas for level gimmicks, becoming much more creative as it goes along, and increasing the challenge as well. Right now, I'm at level 6 (not sure of the exact number of stars, but in the 70s), and I can say, unless if it somehow completely messes up in the rest of the stars, which is very doubtful, this game is easily better than the first.

Wow, same complaints for MHTri and SMG2. Give the games time, especially long ones.

I thought Super Mario Galaxy was a pretty good game. I have not yet played SMG2, but i expect it to be good. I hear most people are liking it.

Really? Because ever since the first level in SMG2 I've been thinking that it's the better game. But maybe that's because I never really got into the first Galaxy. I stopped after Bowser and it's not too fresh on my mind. But right now I'm leaning towardsa 10 for SMG2. :?

ALL games get better the more you play them...

once you beat a game then you can reflect on it.
