Anyone else bothered by the "why can't this be on the Wii?" threads?

It's like you see Resident Evil 5 threads asking for it to be on the Wii.

Did you buy the correct hardware? No?

Then stop asking

The people who ask always say the same things. That the Wii can do everything it needs, it just needs to be tweaked.

Here's that logic used elsewhere.

They go to Burger King and ask for a Big Mac. When told they can't get one they explain how Burger King uses meat and lettuce and hamburger buns, they would just need to do a few tweaks. They wont make you one, they'll tell you to go elsewhere.

Same thing with the Wii. It has a deep library of games to choose from and that's what you're picking from if you're a Wii owner. If you wanted other software then you should have purchased other hardware too.

The idea that "we deserve everything" is getting too out of control. No you don't deserve everything, you deserve for it to be like every single generation with certain software out of your reach unless you make more then one investment in hardware.

"Wouldn't it be cool if we got blah da dah?" No it wouldn't be cool to have a half hearted watered down version of a game on the Wii. Know what WOULD be cool? You just buy the correct hardware and leave it at that.

Who else is tired of these threads asking for games?

Yeah, it isn't going to happen so they should stop whining. The Wii is a great system for exclusives, and multiplats are usually inferior on it. RE: 5 just isn't compatible with the Wii. Besides, I don't even want that game. European crazy villagers was one thing, but I have a problem with blasting the heads off of the starving people in africa.

Ahh but you're wrong to a degree.

Sure if people want Hi-Def games you're not gonna get KZ2 or GeOW2 or even Fable2 on the Wii let alone RE5.

However, the Wii still lacks certain styles of games such as an equivilent to PGR2 or Burnout2.

Also is there any harm in wanting SEGA to do Jet Set Radio on the Wii, after all the Nunchuck can control you character and the Wii-mote can do the grafiti.

There are other games as well that would be nice to see on the Wii a decent Sand box game a-la GTA San Andreas for example

There there's the peeps that would like a new RE game on the Wii sure we're not gonna get RE5 but something stand alone like they did CV for the DC would be rather cool.

Even something like Headhunter or about 20 other DC games I can think of would be nice additions if updated and released on the Wii.

I agree. Granted I wouldn't mind seeing some of these games on the Wii, I bought my Wii knowing that some of these great games coming out would never have a chance on it and I'm okay with that. You should buy a system knowing what software you will have for it and not buy it and sit around hoping that the software you hope, hope, hope for will magically appear on it.

You forgot to say "You know what grinds my gears" in the beginning. But all the same you have a point.

If your going to make a Wii game make a wii game. I wouldn't want a game that has to be cut down to pieces so it can be played on the Wii.

There are no 360 versions for Boom Blox or Zack & Wiki. Each console has it's strengths so the games should be made to reflect those. No point in demanding different versions.

On the flip side I can't deny that RE4's control scheme on the Wii was pretty great and you can only wonder how it could be on RE5.

Yeah but devs aren't making those games for a reason

It's not like a dev is saying "oh we don't like money, we're going to all live in cardboard boxes and sell our children for heat"

The Wii has a great library now, any console could use more support but no console has ever covered it all. So if you have a Wii you should be happy with what's there because it was your job to get the Wii. It was your job to look at the software and say "I'm cool with that"

Asking for games is useless because it's not going to happen. Like these people who start the petitions? For every one I see I actually send an Email to whatever company asking they DO NOT make that game.

What if people don't want to/can't afford to pay another $300+ for another console if they just want to experience one game on that system, even if it's a watered down version?

I agree, even if a dev makes a game that was originally done for another system, they tend to get lazy. Capcom for example is really lazy for wii development, resident evil 0 for wii? really? ALso the latest port of dead rising, people are complaining that its not like the 360 version, well tough to that, if you wanna experience the 360 version then buy a 360. I just dont get Wii owners sometimes.

I don't think there is anything wrong with wanting MULTI-PLATFORM games for the Wii. Everyone seems content with being excluded from lots of non-exculsive games for some inane reason. I think 360/PS3/Wii owners should always ask for more because how are developers going to know about a demand for X game? There is nothing wrong with the Wii lineup, but there could always be more.

I would be worried about what the 'special sauce' would be if I got them to make a big mac at burger king... In regards to the rest... yes, please stop asking. Also quit whining about getting a cheap rip-off port instead of the 'full deal' those other guys got. There are many things the Wii is good at and some things it is not good at. The same goes for other systems. If you don't like what you got sell it off and get something else, or save up some money and get something else. I know money doesn't grow on trees, but holding out your hand whining about not having money doesn't help either... especially when it comes down having something not required to stay alive. jeez.

Can't say I agree. Sorry, I have the HD consoles and I'd still like to see RE5 on the Wii. Unless there's some unbelievably amazing stuff later on in the full game, there's absolutely no reason what-so-ever for Capcom to not make a version for Wii. I'll "suffer" through RE4-esque, lower-rez textures and graphics as long as it has Wii Edition's controls. Same thing with Dead Rising. I'm a huge fan and owner of the original 360 title and I'm still excited for the scaled back Wii version because the controls and certain other aspects will make it feel like a fresh game.

I can't agree with the "be happy with whats there" comment either. Considering that the Wii lends itself so well to certain types of games and gameplay elements that simply aren't taken advantage of by the current library of games, but devs are either too stupid or too lazy to capitialize on it. I think Wii is a great console and would love to see more types of games made for it. I really think developers are missing some fantastic opportunities with the system. I'll use RE4 Wii Edition and The Godfather Blackhand Edition as examples. Great games, great controls, both are hailed by most fans and critics alike as the "definitive versions" of the games, yet not one game developer has bothered to replicate or expand upon those two formulas? Absolutely moronic!

Granted, video games are more about the monetary values attached to them nowadays than ever before, but just like any business, you can't expect to make money if you don't spend a little first. But thats a conversation for another time.

To answer your question about game request topics, no i personally don't get tired of them. Message boards are for conversation, if the topic of a conversation doesn't interest you or it annoys you, simply don't click on it.

Using your own suggestion, maybe you should choose a different thread to read and save yourself the aggravation. Besides that, many people buy hardware when it first comes out, so it is natural for these people to be frustrated when they see great software released on other systems, this also applies to the many people who received their wii as a gift. My final point: it seems to me that about 50% of all of these message boards and blogs ect. are people complaining about one thing or another. Stop crying about people crying.

...even if Burger King succumbed and said they'd make the Big Mac for someone, that person would still complain because it wouldn't be exactly like the ones at McDonalds. I don't know how valid this argument is though because Chuck Norris went to Burger King and he got one. Unless Norris logic doesn't apply to us. :?

Yeah at times but the main thing that gets on my nerves ESPECIALLY HERE, is the countless number of Super Smash Bros Brawl - Who's your favorite Character/The character you use the most/etc threads. The other annoying thing is that when a person makes a thread asking an honest question, it's always some kind of jerk that comes on and tries to belittle them for not knowing or living video games by making a snyde remark.

Would you prefer to bash the heads of people in another country? Maybe they'll make a game like that. It'd be kind of like rampage, but instead of destroying buildings you'll travel the globe bashing heads. Sounds like it could be fun to me. I want this too.
