I lost my Phat a few months ago now, and I'm thinking about buying a DS Lite but I'm wondering if it has better battery life? If it doesn't, I'm considering just getting a used Phat (which are significantly cheaper). Thanks for responses.
Just get the DS lite. The old DS' sucks compared to the new version. Dont be cheap its worth itErnsp

The DS Lite is slimmer than the original, lighter, and has a brighter backlight than the original. It also has a longer battery life and larger sylus. There's more improvements, but those are just a few I think will help you.
Definitely the Phat one. The battery life on my ds lite is ridiculous. I think it lasts for about 4 hours on DIM brightness ( before anyone starts gawking at me )
The phat ds has a 850mAh battery, and the DS Lite has a 1000mAh battery. So the ds lite will last 15-19 hours on the lowest brightness setting. (5-8 on highest)
They both are pritty much the same, i have both and i play both depeding on the games, phat is much more comfy, lite is much better for the road, both have about the same battery length no matter what anyone says. But i would get a ds lite because finding a new phat is nearly imposible.
The battery is a hella lot longer. The lowest light setting (the same as the orignial DS's light) lasts the batteries 12-15 hours. Highest (4th setting) lasts 5-8 hours, but that's ridiculously bright. I usually have it at level 3 (6-10 hours).
ds original is meh light on what was it 8 hours and light off 12 hours as the dslite has level1 20 hours,lvl2 16 hours,lvl3 12 hours, level4 brightness 8 hours.
