I keep on hearing the Wii lacks good games but I don't agree. I will admit we do have a lot of great game but we could have more however, I don't think it is lacking. After all we have Zack and Wiki, NMH, SPM, SMG, and MP3. In the future we will get MK and SSBB. And, I think we will get even more great games after time. So, do you think the Wii lacks great games?

Wii has as many AAAE games as the 360 and more than the PS3. To say the Wii lacks great games is to say the gaming industry lacks great games overall.

great games, no it has plenty and more on the way. It might lack 'Blockbuster' games though. The difference of course being that a great game is one that can draw you in for 30+ hours and make you spend countless more just to master every bit of the game. and a blockbuster being major development budget and hype around it. Personally most blockbusters just bust and most great games are ignored by the people claiming to be the 'hardcore' gaming populous.

Well that's debatable considering it was originally designned for the GC and is also available for the GC so I didn't put it in there but I guess that counts. Another one I forgot to put was RE4 Wii edition.

For being a little over a year old, it certainly doesn't lack great games. I just don't have the money to buy a lot of the good ones (but I'm getting Brawl this Monday, they won't have it Sunday  )

The Wii does not lack great games at all. I'm actually surprised at how many quality titles there have been in the first year of the Wii's life.

Well if you post this topic in the Wii board, of course people are going to say that the Wii has great games!

It could be better... But I am not complaining. Its enough to keep me busy anyway.

To me it doesn't lack but it could be way better than it is. I would like more Wiimote exclusive games like Z&W and TC... there's not enough of thoses.

Considering I only owned 13 N64 games and I currently have 11 Wii games (soon-to-be 12 on Sunday)... I say the lineup is great.

im just waiting for an announcement of a great fps for the wii (single player and multiplayer) and id be completely satisfied. I know the 360 has great fps, but playing fps using wii controls is just mind blowing to me.

No need to be rude, i was just saying that a lot of people see more those games (tons of minigames and lousy ports) than the good ones (no need to mention them) and they hate the Wii and say that the Wii just have bad games, and that a couple of good ones doesnt make a good console.

I'm telling you some guys really think that the Wii just have Super Mario Galaxy as a good game.

I think the wii has quite a few great games, and alot of good games, but too many shovelware games and ports of bad games, which doesn't effect me, but it makes the wii's lineup overall look bad, and anytime I go into a gamestop, they act as if the wii only has bad games and nothing else because they're ignorant, they completely disregard awesome games such as NMH, SMG, BWII, Z & W, Endless Ocean, MP3, and Twilight Princess, and good games, for example, Godfather, Excite Truck, SSX Blur, Elebits, Dewy's Adventure, Mercury Meltdown, Metal Slug Collection, Dragon Blade (Yes, I liked it quite a bit), and Re4, see, the wii doesn't lack great games, or good games, it just has an abundance of bad ones, which I won't soil the computer screen or this forum by naming them, and people that don't have a wii and like to put it down in a fit of jealousy :P.

We have a bunch of awesome games... Twilight Princess, Zack and Wiki, RE4 Wii edition, No More Heroes, Super Paper Mario, Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, Guitar Hero, and those are all AAA. We're getting Smash in 4 days and then we get to look foward to games like Okami, FFCC: The crystal bearers, King Story, Wii Fit, Mario Kart Wii, WiiWare games.... And thats not to mention the games that Nintendo's keeping secret (Animal Crossing, Starfox, Pikmin). So many games.. so little time.

Sorry if you took that the wrong way, I was pointing out those that think it doesn't have any good games fit my description. Not you in particular. And I agree with your point, bad PR is bad PR regardless of whether or not it is nothing more than blantant misunderstandings...

it all comes down to people that have to come up with stuff to hate on the system that is doing the best. people see shovelware games on the system and assume that is all it has to offer, or that more then just hardcore gamers play the system. its like that in everything, you like a band, then they become really popular and you find yourself saying, " i liked there old stuff, there new stuff is crap" (greenday) thats just they way it is, many gamers out there feel that the ps3 and the xb360 was made for the hardcore gamers, and they feel like they belong to a certain group, but when nintendo comes along and does a smart business move and starts appleaing to all forms of gamers, they get pissed, and have to come up with stuff such as the wii doesn't have good games. there are many great games on the wii (im not going to list them because most of you have) and the awesome part is, almost all those great games are only on the wii.

no in fact i havent had this much fun since goldeneye or perfect dark 64 at least,,

last gen was stale as a game gen can be

wii has alot of good games out and yet to come with 20+ million sold itll push developers to develope for it just like sony got developers away from 64

good games include

super mario galaxy

metroid prime 3

manhunt 2

re 4 wii edition

driver paralel lines ya i said it

zelda tp

super paper mario

ssbb

mario kart 64 vc

mario kart wii

all the mario games on virtual console as well as all the zelda and dkc games ,

fun times

wii has more aaas then 360 its got more games overall then the 2 already so theres no complanin needed , those that complain are either under a rock or are fanboys mad at their favored console like say ps3 isnt selling so good like ps2 or xbox360 is falling behind even after being release a year early it may have worked for sony good job sony ,, but it doesnt always work that has been seen with snes ,, god dont make me look up how it overtook genesis even after being so late into the party .. nintendo knows what they are doing i kept telling ppl give them a chance so what if they messed up with gamecube ,, its like nascar you mess up you rebound and thats exactly what they did

It does not lack great games, but there is a lot of shovelware. But unless you're a fanboy that ends up with over twenty or thirty games by the end of a console's lifetime, you should be plenty satisfied with what we have. After all, you're be playing Brawl and Mario Kart for years and years to come, Galaxy and Metroid are always great to go through again or try to get 100% finished, and there's all the third-party games like MOHH2, Endless ocean, and Zack and Wiki. Oh, and there is much more coming in the future like Zelda Wii, Pikmin Wii, F-Zero Wii, Kirby Wii, possibly a new Pokemon Snap, A MMO Animal Crossing or Pokemon, If we're lucky a Resurrection of Kid Icarus or Earthbound, ect. Also, i don't think Developers can continue to be oblivious to the fact that their games stink much longer. And soon some of the really big third-parties that normally work with Microsoft and Sony will start making some good games for Wii when they realise how much it's selling.

yes, the wii is lacking more great games. i only have the wii and nothing more. i'm happy to play mario, samus and zelda, but i also want to play more of the games like tekken and metal gear solid. now, in order for me to play these games, i would have to buy a ps3, but at the same time, i feel like since the wii is doing extemely well, some of these third party developers should bring some of their high profile games to the wii too. fatal frame and monster hunter 3 have made the jump to the wii, why not some of the other games too????

Depends on what you'd consider a good game. If you like First Person Shooters, then yeah, a little. If you like Mini Games, then hell no!

I've got 13, including Wii Sports, and outside of Marvel Ultimate Alliance (which I got in a bundle deal), I think they're all good games.

Umm in my opinion it does. I love FPS and there is not much to offer on the Wii. Luckily i have a 360 as well. I am very excited for Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart, and suprisingly Deady Creatures (what an original idea!). I hope their are lots of Wii gems hidden in 08 because i am not that pumped for it. I would love a new pokemon RPG but that won't happen, not now at least. I think the Wii has potential to be the best console for sports games, I was really excited for MLB 2k8 but i read some average reviews.. Well thats my opinion. My biggest dream come true would be a new Pokemon for the Wii.

ok, the Wii have plenty of games. they're fun games too. however, for young adults and teenagers, it would seem to lack games of violence. yes, I know it has some violent games but not that many. Now dont get me wrong, it is a very fun system. I have one myself. It is just some of the games could a little more to them. MBL 2K8 iwas mad about though. I have the game and it pissed me off about the graphics of that game. I know the system is for family fun. It just well, I can understand at points well, where if you want to get a game shoot the crap out of someone or blow up something, or see blood fly over the place, the Wii is not the system for that. I know Nintendo has been like that for years. However, Wii has fun games but some of the games are difficult for beginners. I work at an arcade at a resort and it has a Wii in it. The people love the Wii but they don't care for the other games due to how hard they are. However, that really cant say much due to they are first time players and are not given time to actually learn the system. Now, great game sto some people might not be great games to other people. Now, the Wii has good games but for me, I like shooting, fighting and game with mainly violence. Yes, like i mentioned before, I like the fun games of the Wii but I feel Nintendo could step up their game. I think there needs to be more variety other than fun titles. I know Wii has teen and mature titles but Nintendo can put out some more of those. Other than that, they can keep doing the fun games. NOw, I hope i didnt offend anybody or anything. I just wanted to sorta explain a different view why some might have that opinion that the Wii lacks great games. And the only other that people might feel this way bout the Wii is that it doesn't pick up huge titles. Thats all I can think of.

It's current lineup leaves a lot to be desired...

Mainly due to the lack of good third-party games. Don't get me wrong, but good first-party titles can only take you so far...

The Wii has a lot of good games, there are also crap games, but smart people knows what to get and if you look to the line up the Wii has great games. I find this funny cause if you look in the PS3 forums you'll find threads that talk about the same thing -> there aren't enough good games on the PS3

If you're still not tired of Metroid/Mario/Zelda & company after 25 years of gaming, then no. The Wii has many great titles. If you're shaking your head at Nintendo for coming out with yet another Metroid/Mario/Zelda game after all this time instead of inventing something new, then yes, the Wii is sorely lacking in great games because the decent third-party games are few and far between.

I liked the latest Metroid/Mario/Zelda myself, but I wouldn't even own a Wii if it bothered me that Nintendo keeps bringing the same characters back again and again. Even as it is now, I had to go buy a PS3 because I ran out of games I wanted for the Wii and could definitely use a break from Nintendo's cast sometimes. Having both is perfect, but neither one has quite the game selection to stand on it's own in my home.

the wii is better played by 3 types of gamers: nintendo fans, open minded gamers, and casuals. if u dont apply to any of those three, then u wont think that the wii has any good games, and u shouldn't even buy one.

Of coarse the Wii is lacking in the great games department. You can count all the great games on the Wii with one hand and all of those would be made by Nintendo. Personally I'm not surprised there are no great third party Wii games availible. Nintendo has always had a problem getting third parties to develop great games for their systems going all the way back to the N64. It seems that no matter how good a great third party game is it can never contend with the astronomical production value Nintendo puts into it's own products. Therefore most companies are afraid to take any kind of risk to compete agaisnt Nintendo. Hence why the Wii is constantly flooded with terrible last gen ports from europe and cheaply produced casual games that are more screen saver than video game. Without Nintendo Wii fans would have nothing great to play at all and unfortunately it doesn't seem like that is going to change anytime soon. Yes there are great first party titles availible but they are few and far between. All us Nintendo faithful can really do is wait for the big N to slowly roll out the great games just like every Nintendo system since N64. The last time Nintendo had any real great third party games was back in the Super NES days and although Nintendo fans can still say we get to play some of the coolest games in the world they are so few and far between it's easy to notice the lack of great games to play...
