Does using the 3D on anything but highest setting really make a difference?

Pretty much topic... just wondering because I have been using the 3D effect (usually about half way up the slider... sometimes a bit lower), and I am wondering if it really makes a difference? Also, does it every make you guys a bit dizzy after? I mean, not like fall over dizzy, but sometimes after use your eyes seem to adjust a bit slowly or something?

I don't really see much of a difference. I keep it about halfway myself. If I put it all the way, I just have to hold the 3ds further back, but it still looks about the same. Besides, full 3d tends to give me headaches if I look at it for too long.

I only ever felt dizzy the first day I got my 3DS and played an hour of Zelda with 3D on full. I also had the feeling after that I was going cross-eyed, but that passed relatively soon and I haven't felt that way since. I generally keep it on full except in Ocarina of Time, as its 3D effect is a bit too pronounced and full results in a LOT of haloing around objects due to the narrow field of view for the 3D effect itself.

I'm wondering if my slight disorientation is just because this is the first time I have ever actually played with the 3D for an actual length of time... I played with it for about 30-45 minutes at about half power

Not for me, at least i don't see any thing from a so-called 3D version thing
