people say mariokart ds is the best of the series due to the multiplayer had by wifi.

would wifi multiplayer make other games limited by the ds hardware better than their console mates?

i think the fact that online does add to a game.i think mario kart was actually better than double dash even though i like dd.the reason mk is better twice the courses and the ability to play anybody from around the world.i think wifi does matter but it also depends on what type of game it is.a game like castlevania realy doesnt need wifi while a game like mk does.

I would like to think that it does add a lot to the overall gameplay experience. Imagine playing Metroid Prime: Hunters at a wifi spot in some cafee and playing against your friends, or spending some time at the beach in your town in Animal Crossing: Wild World with a friend, or competing with a friend or random people from around the world (or regional if you so choose) in Mario Kart DS. Playing the single player game can be fun but even more fun can be derived from playing with a friend...who may be on the other side of the world from you.

but would you pick the ds game with worse graphics and controls with multiplayer over a console version of the same game without?

and im talking like the exact same game. like if mariokart ds had the tracks as double dash and no additional content.

I think that wifi adds to the replayability of a game, and when you add replayability to a game it extends your enjoyment of the game. so in a way i guess it does matter.

Depends on the situation. Since I have three buddies at work with a DS and we usually only play the DS at work, wifi is not important to us.
