My power button often takes more than one press to turn it on. I never seem to have this problem with turning it off though; it always turns off on the first try.

This has been the case for me from day one. Sometimes it's an instant turn on. Sometimes its 3 presses. It doesn't make much sense.

Hmm maybe you have to keep it pressed? Mine does the same. I'm going to experiment.

Mine will do the same thing, at least 2 times to turn it on. But if it was just a few minutes it will start on the first try.

I have to press it 2 times or hold it for 5 seconds to turn it off and press it one time to turn it on. Maybe I'm lucky? :?

Yeah me too, so this is a common issue after all. Another to the list.

Does it happen to me? Sometimes it happens to me. Does it happen to you? Notice the proper usage of the word "does".

No need to be a grammar nazi lol

But anyway I dont really see this as a problem, since for me atleast, the 3DS has never been able to turn off by itself (unless the battery dies ofcorse, lol). I press the power button and then on the screen a button shows up saying turn off.

Yes, it usually takes several tries. The most frustrating part is usually turning it on.

Double-slapped. Anyway, I don't have a 3DS yet, I'm waiting till after the conference on Sept 13, and then I will get the red one. So out of all you people that say this button issue happens to you, did you buy your 3DS at launch? If not, how long after launch?

I normally have to press it two times to turn it on. I don't consider it much of a flaw...

I only have to push it once to turn it on, to turn it off I have to hold the power button for about a second.

Obviously that was a mistake by me I did not proofread very well. I very well know how to use the words "do" and "does."

Anyway, seems like the issue is very common among 3DS owners. I'm starting to play Link's Awakening for the first time now, so my 3DS will probably not be turned off for some time.

I think a lot of people are not pushing the button with the proper pressure. I tested this myself, if you don't push it on the top of the button it doesn't work. An insignificant issue, but an issue none the less.
