Mine does on the left side of the touch screen. If you don't know what this is, look at your bottom screen in a dark room and see if you see any light coming from the side of the screen. If you see this then your screen is crooked.

I'm still contemplating exchanging it or not. Right now I have a thin strip of black electric tape over the spot. Now I can't see the light at all, and the tape is barely noticeable. I am just scared that if I take it back I may get a worse one with the same or different problems.

Do you have this defect? What do you think I should do?

Never even heard of it, lol, I just checked, no light. You might want to take it back, or dust might get under the screen. Then when your warranty runs out by then, you'll really regret it.

Yeah, that, and my DSi has it too. It's small and can only be seen from a very specific angle and cannot be seen by normal means. It's very hard to see. It took me a while to find it and I still have trouble finding it. I wouldn't have been able to notice it if you never brought it up.

Sorry to hear that. Nintendo has pretty high quality control. I'd personally take it back and exchange it. It's not a cheap unit. It should be perfect for that much money. And like the other guy said, it could lead to other problems in the future.

I checked mine and no leakage for me.

don't you just wish they would do the same for the software?

And whose standard on "pretty high quality" games should they based it on? Yours?

Well, I can see mine from a normal angle when it's dark, so it always distracts me. Funny thing is I didn't notice it until someone else on a forum discussed it, but now I can't NOT notice it.

Yeah, mines on the left. I can only see it when the brightness is maxed, but I always keep it on low.

I'm still not sure...From what I've heard it seems like the majority have a slightly crooked screen. I've heard some say that they went through 7 or 8 before finding a good one, so I don't know if it's worth exchanging

My new blue DSi also had the light screen "leakage" on the bottom screen/left side. All I did was use my thumbnail and pushed the blue frame over slightly and it closed completely up. It is perfect now. You might wanna try this.

I had this exact same issue on the left side of the screen, along with 2 dead pixels on the touch screen. Gamestop would not exchange for the crooked screen or the 2 dead pixels. They said the crooked screen was a cosmetic issue and there needs to be at least 8 dead pixels for an exchange. I will never buy anything from them again. The store is turning too military for me. Some of their policies these days are absurd.

I don't know I never have my backlight on so I don't know I don't even have it on in the dark and I can still see it perfectly the only time I can't see my screen is when I'm in the Sun.

That's interesting...I tried it and it seemed to move over a little. I'm afraid to push too hard though. How hard did you have to push to move it? And is the frame wobbly now that you moved it or is it still firmly in place?

Bro don't let gamestop push you around. Go back at another time when that guy isn't there and return it. Just tell them that the system freezes and locks up every 15 minutes or so of game play. They'll have to take it back since they won't have time to test these claims. In the future, show at walmart or target or best buy as they'll take things back with no hastle. Let us know how things turn out.

Amazon.com's return policy is pretty amazing. I could have gotting a total refund on my DSi or just exchanged it. I've decided to exchange it. They are mailing me a new Dsi this week and I just have to mail back the defective one within 30 days. This way I won't be without my DSI at all. Sweet :)

there's always one of you, gotta go out of your way to make a smartass comment about something someone has to say, even if it's something i didn't claim. but sure why not, let's base it on my standard of what i think is high quality, because if you think that nintendo doesn't allow shovelware to be published at an disgusting rate, then you're a moron. sure it's profit over quality, but nintendo's standards have reached abysmal lows.

but that's why nintendo will continue to make money and i'll be here complaining about it, and you'll be there rolling your eyes til you go blind. idiot.

I just returned my bronze dsi XL at the store because of the backlight leakage on the right side of my touch screen , I was not happy it was very distracting and I dont like to pay 200 $ and have those kinds of defects and by the way my new one is PERFECT no backlight problem and no stuck pixels !!! hurray

If you have this problem I suggest you to exchange it at the store where you bough it !!

Dude, that is wretched. When someone purchases a new item he ought to get it in perfect condition. I bought a 20" LCD Flat Screen HP Monitor from Frye's and the first time I turned it on I immediately noticed it had one dead pixel. I brought it right back. The fellow who did the exchange for me seemed to give me a bit of a look but he did the exchange regardless.

I am thankful that I have never experienced a problem at Gamestop but I sure have heard nightmare stories from others who have.

Well said. The Nintendo Seal of Quality meant at one point that 80% of the games you bought at random would be at least worth playing. Now.... I don't buy any game without reading at least ten reviews. That says a lot.
