that helps a little, but i guess im wondering if sex affects strength/attack, defense, or evolution, or anything else like that, or if you need both sexes to get a full 100% completion of your pokedex

Um, no, not true @ Whiteghost09 >_> The only difference is in appearance, growls/screams and in breeding. No, you don't need both a male and a female of each kind to complete your pokedex.

Its has no effect on their stats but its used for breeding, and there is a move called "ATTRACT" that will "if [foe] is the opposite gender of the user, the foe becomes infatuated and less likely to attack."

A lot of kids have their team full of males, so if you got a female pokemon throw this move on to it and make your opponents life annoying.

uhh, yes. some pokemon can only evolve into another certain pokemon if it is a certain gender. Examples:burmy;males=mothim, females=wormadam. or snorunt;male=glalie, females=glalie or frosslass with a dawnstone... yep

The only thing that gender really does is, when it comes out it might do something that a male pokemon might not do. It might look different in some way, not really noticable.

Alright listen. In the second generation yes males were a little stronger, for IVs males could get the full 31 in attack but females were capped at 27 or something. Anyways NOW the gender doesn't matter unless you are breeding. In that case males pass down moves and females pass down abilities.
