both... Mario is all around fun with challege mixed in. DKC is more about challenge then mario, but still plenty of fun. Both have plenty of hiddne items/levels/worlds with decent enough graphics, superb gameplay, replay value. The are both games that all Wii owners should have, or why even both getting a Wii if u dont get the great exclusives it does have.
New super mario bros is great fun if your playing with a friend but i didn't find it as enjoyable playing alone, donkey kong on the other hand was the opposite so if your playing alone just get DK. Both are great though!
DKC:R, beautiful looking game that is really tough in places, even though I love Nsmb I cant help but feel a little ripped off by paying for a DS game with multi player.
