Hey, I'm looking for an RPG in which the main story will last me a while, but I'm looking for the best. The only RPG's I've ever played on handhelds are the Pokemon games. Recently I played Final Fantasy 3, which felt surprisingly fresh until I had to start grinding, then it pissed me off. I later got DQM: J, and I like the game. The only thing I hate about it is how quiet and alone you feel running around, and the distant story, but everything else blew me away. Which out of the 3 games I mentioned do you think are the best? Over time, eventually I'm going to get them all, but that's over the span of a really long time, and I got 40 bucks to blow.

Out of those I'd say Chrono Trigger because it also has the most replay value.

I have all three games and i like DQ5 the best but Chrono Trigger is not far behind and is half the cost. if your looking for a good deal, get Chrono Trigger. If your looking for a great story line, get Final Fantasy. but if your looking for theover all best game, get Dragon Quest. all of them great games though. imo you should get them in this order: Chrono Trigger, Dragon Quest 5, and Final Fantasy 4 last (it is also the most difficult game of those 3.)

I have not played the other games but I can say that Final Fantasy IV is a great game. It's hard though, you may get frustrated sometimes.

Final Fantasy 4 gets my vote. I like all three, but imo FF4 has the best story and some fun boss battles. It lasted me longer than the other 2 as well.

FFIV is a good game to play if you haven't played the GBA version or any version before that, but if you have (like I did) it could seem pretty boring. In that case, I'd say DQ5.

I'm liking FFIV a lot, but it's a hard game that requires lots of grinding.

I had the same problem. I bought a shiny (actually kinda dull) new black DSi and was contemplating DQ5 and FFIV. Well I told myself as I was out of town, I'll just get the system now and drive back to town. Got there & couldn't find DQ5 anywhere (and stupid me had it in my hand when I bought the DSi, but thought I'd read some GS reviews on the way home on my blackberry while caught in rush hour)so I got FFIV and it's awesome but I wonder what could have been? Still can't find it getting kinda P'd but you can't go wrong with FFIV though.

Definitely Chrono Trigger for me just a truly awesome game and probably the definitive version of the game with the new content

I own Final Fantasy 4 and its one of my favorite titles even though I played it on SNES and PS1 but it requires a lot of grinding. I am picking up Chrono Trigger next week and that is also a fun game dont know much about DQ5 but you will win with any of the 3 choices.

Personally, I'd recommend Chrono Trigger. It's amazing. The DS version is an excellent port too.

I've only played a few hours of Dragon Quest V, but I've liked what i've played.

I haven't played the DS version of Final Fantasy IV. Only the older versions.

Chrono Trigger as it's one of the greatest games ever in my opinion. FFIV is too... but I wasn't a huge fan of the DS version. Still good though.
