dragon quest 9 battle help

hi there

im new to the game and was just wondering why when i press battle on my name the other 2 of my party do the same? before i could individially select what each person does, such as one battle and one cast a spell.. want to know why this now happens

In the Misc. menu, go to the Party Tactics option and set them all to 'Follow orders'. To be honest, there's never really any reason to let the AI control them at all.

Do go back there, it's just east of Coffinwell.

As a head start, the sequence immediately following has to be one of the defining moments of the game.
