Dragon Quest VI Is Announced For North American Today

Nintendo of America has announced today that they will be publishing Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation in North America for the Nintendo DS. Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation for the Nintendo DS is a remake of Dragon Quest VI which came out for the Super Famicom (aka Super Nintendo) in Japan on December 9th, 1995. This will mark the first time in history that Dragon Quest VI will be available outside of Japan. Nintendo has stated that they plan to release this game on Valentines Day 2011 (Feb. 14th 2011) here in North America. I hope they decide to put DQ 1-3 on a 3DS cart or some kind of re-release for us collectors.

I'm skeptical, somehow. I guess it's because the original game was made by Heartbeat, who of couse made DQ7 which apparently dragged on and on for hours before anything interesting happened.

From what little I've played of the original DQ6, it involves time travel, a concept that's not explored often. Can't wait for this game.
