Dragon Quest X Announced For Wii

Now that's something I didn't expect.

For those who don't know, the last Dragon Quest on a console was for the PS2, and averaged around 90%(with a 9.0 from Gamespot itself).

There are like 100 things to even consider talking about with Square-Enix playing the safe route and actually putting a legitamite RPG on the Wii. Most of them center around one thing.

Nintendo was right, the Wii has no competition, and now only the thickest of people would even consider another gaming machine over the Wii.

The fallout from this is just starting. As I have warned before, now is the time to play what you want, because no store is going to be able to keep those games on the shelves over the flood of content ready for 2009.

I TOLD you the Wii would be the RPG console, heck I got called an ATLUS fanboy just for actually talking about quality RPG's and what they mean for the system.

I am definetely going to need your help sorting out all the second series latching onto the Wii. I'll cover SRPG's and you can have the real time, deal?

Im actually pretty surprised, I thought the last RPG to be annouced fr the Wii for AWHILE would be the new tales, VERY glad to see Im wrong. Between the VC and retail RPGs available/going to be available for Wii, its already an RPGamers best friend this gen..... Just hope Level-5, ATLUS and Tri-Ace/Cressendo contribute...

Well this is Lamespot so I wouldn't be surprised if they did that, anyways DQ10, the new main series Wii Tales game, and Monster Hunter 3 will assure the Wii 100% victory in Japan.

Dragon Quest Swords was not only a spin-off title, but it was out-sourced to two developers (Genuis Sorority and Eighting) with no solid reputation. Unless a Dragon Quest game was developed by Square-Enix in-house and not by an outsourced developer, it will score well.

Dragon Quest X better be good or else fans will be in an uproar if it disappoints, as the franchise is one of the most popular RPGs in Japan.

Anyways I almost picked up DQ8 like 3 weeks ago. I didn't though because I wanted Gran Turismo 4. I guess I'll pick up my original idea next time I get the money. It's cheap so... yeah.

A Square enix game for the Wii that isnt a spinoff? this is madness!!! anyhow, im a bit concerned on how long will it take for them to develop DQ X. since, they havent even finished IX yet. and the Wii only has 3 years left in its lifecycle.Arclight_Blue

Obviously, Final Fantasy is at the top, and I assume Kingdom Hearts is number two. Is Dragon Quest third?

Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest/Warrior are Square-Enix's most valued franchises. Dragon Quest isnt exactly popular outside of Japan though, but that doesnt mean the games sell bad. Dragon Quest is played relgiously in Japan, its easily the most popular game series there. Kids and workers literally skip school and work just to line up and buy the DQ games on launch day.... Im not even joking. So basically, the Dragon Quest series is the most important and wanted S-E series. Its personaly one of my top 5 fav series.
