I know this is beating a dead horse that is already six feet in the ground. But how many of you actually think that Metroid Dread is a reality and is coming? I guess we'll find out in 6 months at the travesty that is now E3 but what do you think are the chances we're going to see Metroid truly return to it's roots, and who would rather see that rather then the current incarnation?

PS:That's not a slant to Metroid Prime (it dethroned OoT as my favorite game)

I belive that there will be a 2-d metroid in the near future but Dread? I dont know. The age of 2-D is dying out and a final metroid in 2-D would make sense to close the classical metroid off.

Now why would they go back to 2-d? Im sure they have and still will make a good 3-D game. I rather play a 3-D metroid game rather than 2-d. i mean, im sure that 2-d classic metroid isreally fun, but that's just me. I just like the new stuff.

but DS is the new GBA. And so they would make the new mp's more up to date like 3-d unlike GBA's 2-d

I don't see why it would be a problem to have two existing franchises. We're not naive enough to believe that if they are developing a 2D metroid that it will hinter the sequel to Hunters (if one is indeed planed). Besides Mario is evidence to the contrary with 64-DS and New.

Eh, Dread was already announced at Retro studies to be dead. Just a rumor, that apparently too many people believed.

I guess after Corruption, there won't be any more Metroid games.I hope this isn't true, but it could be.

What I want is another Castlevania.

Konami has already announced that there is going to be a third Castlevania for DS. They Announced it a little more then two weeks ago.

You're right, why should they make 2D Marios if they have 3D Marios. >_>

Oh, I know why! It's because the 2D Marios are fun,

It would be awesome if they brought back 2d, I think 2d games are my favorite as of late, it's nice to get away from all the gore and dismemberment with some boinky sounds and colorful characters!

Oh wait, Metroid? Not very colorful.... but still, it would be cool!
