I know that the DS can not comunicate using bluetooth and therefore can not be used as a controller for the wii but could the DS become an effective controller for the wii thru other means? I'm sure that using wifi would work, but it wouldnt work well and would be limited. Theres always perferials that could connect into the DS to allow help it use bluetooth to connect to the wii. Well my point is do you think it would be a good idea for nintendo to encourage games in which the DS and the wii can be used together. Since there are many people who own both it could work well for multiplayer.

It certainly has the potential. I hope they use the DSi as a camera for the Wii.

I mean even if you only had one DS the possiblities with a game like Mario party are great. A new Zelda 4 swords. Super Smash brother's pictochat level where someone can actually draw on it. WarioWare. Or a game that uses you Miis. With the DSi's SD card slot youd be able to take your miis with you in your DSi in maybe like a Tamagotchi type game for DS and Wii. That takes your data from WiiFit and The Mii Plaza and WiiSports to give your little me stats

I could be mistaken but can't you use the DS with the Wii for Pokemon Battle Revolution, like to battle your friends Pokemon and stuff ? (I could very easily be wrong.)

The DS has always been able to connect to the Wii. Though, only a few games have made use of that feature, and when it has it's mostly been used for very small things. The most interesting use of the DS was in Pokemon Battle Revolution, which allowed you to use the DS to play the game, instead of the Wii remote. But that's only game I can think that used the DS in such a way. Which is a little odd, seeing as there is some potential with this.If this could be implemented in a way that made sense, then this could open the door to some interesting gameplay mechanics.

Though, if this feature were to start appearing in more games, the option to use the DS should be an optional feature. That way anyone who doesn't want to use it--or those who simply don't have a DS--can still play the games that have that option.

Yeah, you could transfer your Animal Crossing character from the DS to the Wii...

The Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles game has connectivity for the Wii and the DS (note: I'm not saying that I'm going to actually play those, NP gave them less-than-great reviews)

Smashing idea old chap. (Hey wait a minute, I'm part American part German, where'd that come from?) The possibilities are nearly endless... Oh btw I have a problem with connecting my Wii and my DS. Can't for the life of me figure out how it works... Could some1 walk me through it or should I go to the troubleshooting area? Wherever I would go to say "Mi iz newb can't wurk teh Wii right Uuuuh?" XD

There are a few games kind of like this already, like that Pokemon Battle Revolution, and the Pokemon Ranch, kind of. I know that the DS and Wii could easily communicate, it's just up to developers to use the feature, but with all the shovelware garbage we're getting from the devs, the game that uses it will probably be from Sega or Nintendo.

Wouldn't this be perfect for a sequel to The Legend O Zelda: Four Swords Adventure?
