Honestly Final Fantasy 3 wouldn't be the best one to start out with mainly because it is a little more difficult (considering it is an NES port) and just not as good as the others. I'd say VI is a better choice or IV.(maybe III is really fun, just not if you've played the others).

I would say that Final Fantasy III is easy in my opinion. I bet everyone could beat it without problems, that't my opinion.

Final Fantasy III was pretty bad in my opinion. Incredibly thin storyline, a very weak job system that doesn't even compare to Final Fantasy V Advance (which is a GBA game), and characters with very weak background stories. I would the say the only thing that actually slightly impressed me in that game were the graphics.

However, there are a bunch of better looking FF games coming out for the DS later on such as Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings (the continuation of Final Fantasy XII for the PS2, the mainstream Final Fantasy game that FINALLY fixed the annoying random encounter system that continued for 10 installments and didn't have to rely on online play to fix it). FFXII: Revenant Wings is a Final Fantasy game you should definitely check out for the DS! It has already been getting pretty high ratings in Japan mostly praising the game for "good flow" (meaning the game starts out simple to accomodate casual gamers, but gradually gets more complex to a point where even long time veterans of Final Fantasy can get the depth and enjoyment they want).

Then there is also the Final Fantasy IV remake coming out for the DS which will most likely be better than Final Fantasy III. I've played the GBA version of FFIV and let me tell you, it instantly became on of my favourites with a likeable cast of characters (who are much more interesting then Luneth, Refia, Arc, and Ingus from FFIII), nice looking sprites (the DS version will have full 3D characters though!), much more interesting story, and a wider variety of characters (you don't have to stick to just 4 this time). Final Fantasy IV is also a Final Fantasy game for the DS to check out!

There's also this game called Final Fantasy Tactics A2 which is a sequel to the GBA game Final Fantasy Tactics Advance although i don't really know much about it.

Anyways, I hope I helped you in giving you information about Final Fantasy for the DS!

I played through the first half of the game and i found it to be quite cheesy and predictable and straightforward. The game does require you to grind, so if you hate grinding (killing a monster over and over in order to proceed to kill the next one an start over) i dont think this game is for you. But if you like doing that, go for it. More power to you

its a really good game maybe you should rent it thats the best decision because there are a bunch of final fantasy haters here and you probably dont know who to believe so just go to blcokbuster sign up for a blockbuster card and ds games are only 5 dollars to rent so how could you go wrong withthat

if ur a fan of old-school RPGs with shallow stories, but tough and engaging combat, you'll love it.

but if you grew up in the days of the 'new' FF RPGs (post-VII imo), you will probably find it too hard and too boring
