[QUOTE="InDefiance0"]I have grown tired of my psp and there are no games i am really looking forward to since i have already gotten and beaten God of War. I am thinking about getting a Ds and was just wondering how much longer you think the ds has left? how long untill a new ds version comes out or a new handheld all together? I know no1 knows for sure but i am just curious what you all think, and wether it would be worth it or not.Bio_Spark
I'd place it at around two years of active releases before it tapers off. I have no real evidence to support this.
And I don't know if you're even considering it, but don't sell your PSP. Everyone who does usually regrets it eventually.
i agree, its very true. im on my second psp right now, but it isnt really the same case. (my fat psp's memory stick didnt work right, and although it was from a blackmarket in china, and it was deff not the psp its self, i used it as an excuse to buy a lite. i sold my fat ds with the psp, and used the combined cash to buy a ds bundle, i then bought a slim in November, and sold my ds shorty after) i want a ds now.
so yea, thats my whole life story..

I think the DS has at least 2 more years, they arent going to need any new hand held system for a while, the graphics are good enough and the 2 screens is unique enough to make it last longer than usual. Plus sony won't be making a PSP2 or anything for a while, and the NDS is selling like hotcakes and that is not going to change anytime soon.
I don't think we will see a new handheld from Nintendo until 2010. And then they will most likely bring out a new console in 2011 or even 2012.
well gba didnt stop until recenty in fact theirs 2 more releases left for gba according to ign ,, so i say gba came in 2001 going with the current gen of that gen, gc-2001 same year as gba end 2004 was ds launch then you add 3 more yrs to gba actually being off the market , , 2008 spacifically so ya youll get till 2012 even more long if they dont release a new ds or gameboy in the time frame of 2010 or 2011 ,, if not then you ll get longer, out of it, 5 yrs i say ,, plus what was out since launch psp got less because its less popular sony wouldnt be smart to go the distance nintendo has with its gba or gbc the last gbc title was launched i belive in 2001 or 2002 , along side gba
Depends if Nintendo annouces a new system or not. Original GB lasted a good 9 years until GBC was released. GBC was good until GBA was released, had a lifespan of 3 years. GBA only lasted 3 years and then the DS was released.
Hopefully Nintendo will wait out on releasing a new handheld for a while. I was surprised by how fast the GBA went from being the best 2D system to be neglected and only having kiddie games released for it.
i think the ds and the psp will have aobut a couple more years life span until eventually a new handheld will be relased.
Nemo :D
I don't know. Sales are up but it seems like game releases already peaked. But still, a good two years.
As for selling your PSP... well I doubt I'd buy one, but if I already had one, I wouldn't sell it. Sorry if that seems a little confusing. I'm just saying that it's probably worth keeping around.
