I've owned a DS lite for a few months now, and just recently I grabbed my friends DS on accident, and upon opening it up I noticed how different the screen comes up. It was much smoother and felt sturdy in the up position. There's nothing wrong with my hinge as far as looks can tell, but whenever I open is it feels just loose and like it could break off at any moment. Anyone else have this problem, and can I send it in for a new one via the warranty?
I have the same problem mate, I am just sitting by with a thin shoot of glue just in case either side of the hinge feels like popping up. But yeah, if you have a lasting warranty, go get a new one!
If you are under warranty then get a new one. But the glue trick the above poster said will work too, just be careful that you don't get any in the hinges because it being loose will be the least of your worries. :)
Mines just broke off this weekend. Right above the R button, the light cover and hinge snapped off together. I called Nintendo about it and they covered it completely. It was a Father's Day gift from last year, so I don't know about warranties. If it does break, you ca always call Nintendo and see what they say.
I got my Nintendo DS a couple of years ago and the hinge at the right hand side snapped off completely about 3 months ago. I glued the corner and the light cover back on but the hinge snapped again yesterday and I dunno what I should do. Help anyone?
