DS not reading games?

I put a game into my DS and when I turned it on the home menu didn't display it as an inserted game. So I took it out and reinserted and it worked and played fine. It also has some scratches on the back of the game on the golden connectors so I was wondering could this have something to do about it, or maybe just a one time fluke?

it happens because the game is in bad condition. just blow on the game to try to fix though.Jdog30

How I just got the game and have played it less then 3 hours.
