Hey guys I'm wondering if you guys have heard anything about new versions of the DS coming out?  Nintendo seems to like introducing slight improvements once in a while...like ds and then ds lite... i'm thinking of getting one so let me know if you guys have heard anything.  thanks!

I hope they aren't making a new one. I own the original GBA and all the versions after that weren't imporvements in my opinion. Nintendo got lucky with the DS Lite but that mostly due to the horrible disign of the original DS. I can't see how they could make futher improvements to the model, they could improve battery and color but that's about it.

it IS nintendo so i wouldnt dought it. they seem to like putting multiple versions of the same thing on the market.

you never know with nintendo...but i wouldn't want anything more than colors or batterylife

i remember a couple years ago after ds came out, the president said in a magazine that ds will be nintendo's last handheld.

i don't think they will, I hope they don't. I really don't want to end up wanting to buy any new version of the DS. lol

there is a chance of that happening...but i doubt it'll be in the near future~  maybe new colors but design...i doubt it

I think the likelihood of a new DS Lite is almost zip.  Probably because the DS Lite is perfect already, there isn't much to improve on.  Unlike the GBA, the DS's screens cannot be shrinked any lower or else it'll risk making some games' touch screen controls mess up.  The DS Lite has nice color and design.  Only reason I'd see of upgrading is to get rid of the low quality speakers on the DS Lite.

there is a couple of very minor things they could improve. like showing exactly how much battery life is left or the ammount of time you play it each day like the wii
