i cant find a ds any where i checked best buy, walmart, sams, target, and availability checker thing on every gamestop within 30 miles i live in Louisiana is it just my area or is the ds shortage everywhere?
it must be a regional problem...i live in the florida panhandle, and there's no shortage here at all... they dont have any at best buy, but they DO have them at wal-mart, target, and gamestop.
I'm panicking a bit. We're taking a cross country trip in two weeks and I decided to get one for each of my children and I can't find one for my son. I found a leftover pink one for my daughter, but all the stores have told me that they haven't been stocked since Christmas.
I was able to get my hands on a DS for a friend a few days after Christmas at my local Gamestop (granted it was their last one in stock lol). It has to be a regional issue.
I live in the chicago suburbs, and they are sold out *everywhere*. When I went to get my DS, I must have called 25 stores around my area, in four different surrounding towns. I had to have been the luckiest person at that point, because I got the *last* DS Lite that Sam's Club had.
I know how all of you guys feel. I'm supposed to get a new DS for my birthday tomorrow (I'll be 17), and up here in Toronto Canada, they're all sold out. I've checked Wal-Mart, Best Buy, EB Games, Future Shop, Toys R Us, etc. Nobody up here has any in their stores right now...

Since all the online stores are out as well, there has to be some sort of shortage. There may be pockets of availability, but I'll bet they are leftover from before Christmas.
There's no way the DS is becoming like the wii. Here in Sunny California there are a lot in Target, KMart, EB Games, Best Buy and Circuit City. There's nothing wrong with ordering one online or on eBay if you can't find one.
Here is Louisiana.. all the electronic stores have them.. Walmart, bestbuy, circuit city, all the gamestops.. the rarest thing here are the wiis.. everything else is VERY easy to get a hold to

Order online? From where? I wouldn't overpay on Ebay.
I don't think there is a single DS in my state .....

Kerala , India ..... :P ....... seriously ...... here , there are almost NO DS owners { except me , and I got my DS from the middle east } .............. but PSP's are in abundance here .......
I got mine in North Carolina in GameStop at the mall. They only had pink though, but there was a ton of them. You all could always fly here and pick one up. Louisiana is only.... 500 miles away. Walking is also an option, but I wouldn't recommend it. :]

Just visited the Link there, and yea, that's really something happening i guess, since i've saw so many similar accounts of fruitless shopping. I'm glad it didnt happen in my country/area, the only problem i had to face was to find a shop that doesnt overprice their DS...
They didn't have any at bestbuy until today. Now they have three black ones. I've been checking to see if they would put No More Hero's on the shelf early. No luck... will have to wait until i wake up today to buy and play it.
