How does the alarm on the DSi work? I plan on getting a DSi, but I use my broken DS Lite for its alarm cause it's just loud enough to wake me, yet not enough to wake my family. How does it work?

You just go into settings and go into "Alarm" set the time and there you go! Just put your DSi in standby mode with the volume to max and then you'll hear the irritating ring in the morning (obviously a good thing if you're planning to wake up really early!) So the best thing about it is it's much louder than the DS and DS Lite's alarm (because you know the sound is much better than the DS and DS Lite, yada, yada, yada)

It works pretty much the same as the DS lite's alarm, so you won't have any problems.

You can also buy a Animal Crossing Clock which comes with an alarm and a Mario Bros one too, although I'm not positive bout the Mario one.

Where do you access it? From the System Settings Alarm area?

Yes it's in the Settings, and no you don't have to download it.

You do have to download the ACWW and Mario ones though.

The alarm option allows you to use the Nintendo DSi as an alarm clock. When the alarm is turned on, you cannot use the Nintendo DSi in any other mode until the alarm is turned off. Thanks for sharing http://ds-memory.net/

*note

Your volume settings do matter in order to actually hear the alarm when you wake up. It's not necessary to put the DSi into full volume (although recommended) because when the alarm triggers, the volume steadily increases (not so loud you can't hear anything when you wake up lolz)

At least the DSi I'm gonna get comes with the Mario Clock to fall back on as a back-up. Thank you everyone for your help.
