Is It Just me or does Nintendo relasing the DSi mean that all that waiting i did annoying naggin i did just to get the DS Lite all for naught now that Nintendo are releasing a better version of the console i just got my hands on?

Is it all some conspiracy against me or does nintendo enjoy kicking the dead horse (the ds franchise in this case) to see if it still squirts out some money from sales of a new and better console they just couldve waited to release when the 8th gen of consoles come round.

I know i put myself in the firing line by bringing up this topic but i really hate it when gaming companys release the same console with new labels and better graphics and then expects us to fork the extra 200 bucks and more for whatever deal theyve got going. And knowing these companies theyll probably release DSi games only and then all those with ds lites will miss out.

i dunno and if anyone whos got a DSi can you tell us how it matches up against the DS Lite?

Except the DS Lite was freaking amazing, the DSi is a much smaller upgrade.

I disagree. The DS Lite was just a cosmetic makeover, while the DSi has exclusive features.

i see the DSi as a smooth transition into the next handheld phase, i wont be getting it unless the next pokemon generation is on it and some decent games come out. i wouldnt be suprised if the next handheld after DSi doesnt support GBA games but instead DS and whatever next gen is like how the pattern trend is going.

I still have my first DS and am happy enough with it. I don't do a lot of handheld gaming so I am fine with it.

I still have my original DS and it's alive and kicking. Personally I cannot wait for the DSi and the new features.

To me the dslite is already alot better than the original ds so I won't be getting one until they realy a whole new system instead(where even the cartridges are different).

exactly. i've been fighting off the temptation for years. fourtunately i've found the best viewpoint to take now. "Hey, you could get a DS lite for $130" says temptation "but i could get 4 games for the DS i already have!" says reason.

I'm not happy over the bloatware but I'm not worried about it.

I'm happy with my current DS. Don't really care about the extra features of the DSi and I'd prefer to keep my GBA backwards compatability.

In my opinion, keeping my DS lite is like keeping your advance/sp instead of buying the micro then buy the real next gen handheld
