i want to get a new DS but i am torn between the DSi and the DSi XL, i want to get the XL cause its bigger screen but i heard its the same resolution and makes the games look "blocky"

and i want the normal DSi cause i still want to get this acceccroy

which one is best for the long run? i am so confused.

by the way do any of them have rumble or support the rumble cartridge?

The games look better on the XL in my opinion and no both of them don't have rumble.

I have all of the DS models. The original, the lite, the DSi, and now the XL. If you compare the DSi to the original DS you can tell the screen is brighter..a lot brighter. Also the screen itself is bigger on the DSi and the Lite when compared to the original. Although the XL does have a much larger screen then all of the other versions of the DS it doesn't give the games a sharper look. It only makes everything look bigger and because of that it makes playing on it a lot easier (my opinion). Which also at the same time it does make things look better....only a little better then the DSi in my opinion..

so the same game on the ODS, DSi and the XL look and play the same and the only thing is that the same "pixel" is a little bigger? also do you think they will make the same lens pictured above for the XL, cause that is a hang up between getting the XL or not.

I'm sure in the future they will. The XL is basically just a bigger version of the DSi anyway. :)

would it make crappy resolution games like touch the dead look worse, and how does it feel playing one handed shooters like metroid prime hunters?

I imagine if a game looked bad on smaller screen it would look even worse on a much larger one. Now for games like metroid prime I would think it would be a lot easier to play but you have to keep in mind that the XL is much heavier then the other ds models so that might distract you at first..maybe.

what about wi-fi data? i remember hearing for the lite that you had to transfer the wi-fi data from the original to the lite, and you could only play the lite wifi and not the original. is that true with the DSi XL or is all the wifi data stored on the ds cartrige and it wont matter if i play online on the ODS or XL.

I got the DS lite right now and I gonna get a new one. Im going for the DSi XL cuse of the screen. the DSi XL got everything the DSi has and some new stuff aswell and it got bigger screen so I dont see why not get the XL.

The onley thing that is a minus is that its bigger if u want it to fit in ure pocket but the DSi nearly do that eather so get a nice bag for the XL insted. The other thing is that the XL mey have lower battery life time than the DSi, but I think its like 2-3H max.

I sey go for the DSi XL!

I dont think you do. It mey have higher res so it looks abit better but older games i dont think so. It mey be so on the new DSi games that comes out.

Get the XL. I upgraded from an original to the XL and it is incredible. People are giving you some false information. Games in fact DO look a lot better on the XL. AC:WW for example looks graphically better, not just brighter. There is no pixelation or anything like that. Secondly the battery life is the longest of any DS model. On the lowest brightness, it will run for about 15 hours. I use the medium brightness, and i can get about 12 hours of battery life. Keep in mind this is first hand information. You wont be dissapointed with the XL :D
