The DSi is $169.99. I would say spend the extra money on the DSi because DSi-exclusive games are coming soon.

Yep, there's 3 types of DSi content:

DSi Ware- Games and apps DL'd from the DSi Shop (only for DSi)

DSi Enhanced Cards- DS game cards that work with both systems [DS and DSi] but have more features when put into the DSi.

DSi Exclusive Cards- Game cards that will only work with the DSi system.

Updated RAM for better graphics, and other techy stuff. I'm really not that good at being technical. There is the camera, which is going to be a basis for the new Wario Ware I hear, and there are still a lot of possibilities.

will you be able yo play exlusive dsi versions of games multi player with older ds's or am i thinking wrong about exlusive dsi games does that mean that the actual game won't be on any other ds???k1o8

Omg. PLEASE don't make this another DSL vs DSi! There are already so much and I JUST finished reading a huge one! Get the DSi for the mere fact that it's better. Dispite all the stupid arguements, DSi is in any way BETTER. I don't care if its a waste of money, in your case, but the better one, it has a higher chance of having some awesome features DSL wont offer. EVEN if its as small as game's being made for both versions. This whole debate is over done, pointless, and wastes time. Plus DSi's are in demand now. With so many sales, so many people want one, might as well get one too.

I wonder if there was this much debate with the previous Nintendo hand held games... O.o

There'll be extra features, the only difference between these andthe enhanced cardsbeing that the game will be unplayable on the DS Lite

it is $200 in canada (as mentioned before) but the EBgames here, if you trade your old DSL and 1 game, you get $100 towards the DSi. even though i'm not a huge fan of the DSi (haven't had one in my hands and had the experience of playing it yet) it IS the new console, and it WILL surpass the DSL. if you need something now i'd go for the DSi if i were you. i don't think the price is going to drop for quite some time, since it usually takes a year or so for consoles to drop in price... so, like mentioned before, go for the DSi because that's whats the newest thing out.

According to Nintendo, the price will not drop for either the DS Lite or the DSi. They don't want to make users who bought the system on launch feel like they wasted their money. Price cuts are their last resort and they won't do one unless absolutely necessary. That's why the Wii is not getting one even though its sell have dropped significantly.

sure i guess if pokemon is that great of a game... but you could probably get some decent credit for pokemon since it's popular with the little kids. you might get like $2 from it give or take 50 cents... but that's just me, i'ma little more mature to like pokemon so i'd get rid of it. it's really your call...

there are a bunch of improvments sure video ram is the same but ram was increased as was the processor, the screens and if its a dsi only game they can make dual cart games since the dsi doesnt lock up like ds and lite did when u pull the game out.
