Electronic Arts has unveiled Boogie, an original IP Wii-exclusive rhythm game being developed by EA Montreal due for worldwide release in 2007, which has players dancing, singing and starring in their own music videos.

Though little additional information has yet been revealed on the game, EA has said that players can choose and customize in-game characters to show off "their dancing ****and karaoke skills."

EA Montreal, whom Gamasutra profiled in December of last year, is responsible for SSX Blur, the Wii version of the popular snowboarding game, as well as the forthcoming Army of Two.

Branch head Alain Tascan made news late last year when he famously remarked that Microsoft's Gears of War brought "nothing in terms of innovation to the shooter... Like, zero," adding, "myself, I prefer something more creative."

Tascan held firm to the claims, telling Gamasutra that though the publisher is often seen as sticking close to licenses and franchise iterations, "EA has realized that what we need now to stay number one and keep that edge is really to focus on creating new IP," adding that EA Montreal wanted to "prove that as a company we can do it."

Said Tascan in a statement, "We're creating something new and different for gamers of all ages to enjoy; the complete party package where gamers can dance as well as sing. Nintendo's Wii is an amazing console that really gives us a platform to be creative and to re-think traditional game development."

lol the dance game on Wario Ware is interesting, even though it makes you look like a fool.
