i wonder if jaysonguy's actually... you know... him
you know... jayson's sharp tongue meets moore's devil-like face :P
come on, dont tell me you cant see peter moore with a pair of horns on the forehead laughing maniacally as the fatties who didnt buy EA sports active burn in hell?
How is this in any way related to what Jayson said, all he said was Nintendo should do 3rd parties advertisment for them. This is not an example of that, this is an example of EA marketing thier own title for a change SepewrathI think it's more what he said about how if Oprah mentions something it becomes insta-popular.

Close, Bob Greene did advertise EA active because he was a producer for the game as well. However they used the name Bob Greene, not "Oprah's Personal Trainer." Now they realized the same thing Jason pointed out, you can't slap Oprah or Nintendo on your product and have it sell. You HAVE to have them personally say "I endorse this product."
So the Oprah thing was nowhere near as left field as people think it is, and yes he knows this because he uses EA active.
For the record, I /facepalmed.

Anyway in the long run, this probably doesn't mean anything since games like Active and half assed Maddens are all the Wii will get from this point on. I just hope other publishers look to EA failures and make wise decisions, when you have high quality titles like MH3, and NMH2, its probably wise to let the world know they exist.

Bob Greene does the opening introduction of EA Active Sports and introduces himself by saying you may know me as Oprah's personal trainer. The original was featured in the Oprah magazine and he heavily promoted it by using his Oprah connection and in almost every interview I've read it's mentioned that he is her trainer. The are not now just deciding to use his connections to Oprah...they always have. Here's an article from over a year ago about 'Oprah's Personal Trainer helping EA to develope fitness game.
The fact that the game comes out in a couple of days just shows that EA is marketing it. It doesn't take a genius to figure out if they used Bob Green and Oprah to promote the first one, they'll do the same for the second.
Edited to add that as far as sending Oprah a copy, I don't doubt for one minute that she also recieved a copy of the first. She recieves copies of everything.
What's a Jaysonguy?

Can someone explain to me what's going on here?XDXDXDXDXDXDXDnot sure if you guys are frequent visitors of the wii/DS forums (mostly the wii), but jaysonguy is, basically, a well-known gamespot member, mostly recognized by his tendency to disagree with mostly everything thrown at him, having a different taste for games than most of us, and his "scared fat cat" avatar :P recently he made a topic about how nintendo should advertise third party software more, and made a metaphor with oprah and how everything she claims to like sells like hot cakes. and that's where the topic becomes funny :P
Can someone explain to me what's going on here?XDXDXDXDXDXDXD
Jaysonguy is a distant relative of Nostradamus. He predicted the future unknowingly....
I wish he would tell me the upcoming lottery numbers

If only Jaysonguy were here to comment on how right this thread is. Now do as he commands and go pick up a copy of MLB Power Pros.

Ahem, that was my campaign. The glorious rabbit ran with it because I refused to call it anything other than "Hudson Baseball" and it confused everyone else.
And he doesn't need to comment on this thread, the facts have been laid out and this already led to a proven fact that Oprah passed up on the first copy of EA Active. She had the chance, but she wasn't interested.
This topic doesn't need to be updated until Oprah truly endorses it, something I'll probably hear about shortly after it happens.

why cant more gamers just say this? As opposed to, "Who plays a video game to exercise when you can just go outside lulz."That health guy seems like a nice guy, and I'm sure he means well, but the effort to eat right and exercise is too much for me.

Where did you see in the article that Oprah passed on the first one? All that's mentioned is that they are sending Oprah a copy.
