I know we heard this may times with other developers. But do u all think epic is realy being bias?

You guys aren't seeing the big picture. He's not downplaying Wii because of the controller, that's just the front. He's downplaying Wii because if Wii becomes the sensation that it's becoming, developers will in theory devote more and more of their resources to Wii development.
In the big picture, the more developers are making Wii games, the less they're making 360/PS3/PC games, which in turn means they're NOT using UE3. So the more popular Wii gets, the less money Epic recieves from licensing out UE3.
Blah, blah, blah.
Who cares about his opinion? Not like Epic is doing anything revolutionary themselves, just rehashing the same game over and over. *Looks at Unreal Tournament*
good some one willl understand graphics does not make a bad game any better, epic is biased i tell you that much ,, when has anything of theirs hit a nintendo platform ,, huh , never so it shouldnt suprise you

I don't think they're being biased at all. Nintendo doidn't even bother with their own Wii-mote in Brawl. I think that shows that even they realize that the controller has only limited uses in certain games.
(Don't flame me, that's just my opinion. I love my Wii)

I Love WiiMote +Nunchuk It SweetMany people thought that and look how the Wii is selling now.Thiago26792
The WII is selling because of the games, not the controller.

the last time I checked, games used the controllers so...
Maybe so, but their engines are not only built for UT, they are licenced out to many companies which also use it for their own games. There is where EPIC makes a lot of money. How much? I honestly do not know. They spent a lot of money making the UT3 engine, and if developers can't use it for Wii games, then it is potential money lost.Blah, blah, blah.

That's a rather sophomoric reply, all consoles use controllers. So are you saying that the Wii is selling NOT because of the games but because of the controller?? You must be new to the gaming business.
If the games are good it doesn't matter WHAT the input is people will still buy it. That's like saying "the games suck but I love waving this remote around".
Whether the controller is gimmicky or not Nintendo's own sales/marketing force is making it sound less of a factor in the marketing of the console so it only seems appropriate developers will follow their lead and focus on games and not on input gimmicks. Even Sony got alot of backlash from the gaming community when they introduced their "new" PS3 controller, did that stop people from buying the console? No. Even Sony knows it's about the games.
I don't completely disagree with him. I think people confuse the word 'gimmick' with 'fad'. A gimmick is simply a new and innovative gadget. The wiimote IS a gimmick, but there is nothing negative about that. And it does have limited use, as evidenced by the fact that motion controls have no place in a game like Brawl.
What he failed to mention is the IR controls, which I consider to be a much larger contribution to console gaming than the motion controls.
I'm not sure that we'll ever get rid of standard controllers completely, but I agree with him that the future is probably movement recognition peripherals, like the Z-Camera that was shown on IGN not too long ago.

That's a good point, the creator of Brawl actually recomends the gamecube controller over the wiimote. I don't see how Epic is biased; it's a legitimate opinion.
