I just bought the Lan Adapter and can't get it working. The ethernet light on the modem lights up as do both lights on the lan adapter, but I keep getting Error 51420 every time I go to test the connection. I'm NOT using the ethernet cable that came with the Wii. Probably doesn't matter, but just thought i'd throw it out there...

This is the moderm I have: http://whirlpool.net.au/index.cfm?a=h_view&model_id=278

I think i had that yesterday after a shop update.

Try using a different connection slot, as on my wii for some crazy reason it didnt work on 1 but when i tried to find my Wifi thing in 2 it connected first time.

Or click wii system updates first as that might be the reason.

You've got one USB port and one Ethernet port on the back of that modem, you can only use one or the other for all your devices. Disconnect anything plugged into the modem (like your PC) so the Wii has the modem to itself, then reboot everything and see if it works.

If that was the problem then you'll need a router for multiple internet usage. Otherwise I have no idea what the problem is.

Yup. I took the USB cord out and turned the modem and Wii off and back on after hooking it all up, still didn't work. Looks like i'll have to get the router.

It was the servers that were down. I know I had the same error but keep trying to connect. After 4 times, it worked and I bought some VC games.
