How long do you think it will be before Nintendo drops the price on the Wii? It sells so well there is no need for one now, but how long do you think it will be before the Wii sucumbs to a price drop?

The way its selling at current moment in time. Next year or maybe the year after! Not untill theres a decline in sales which is anyones guesse.

It will be a long dang time... look at the DS.... When sales got to a point that they would offer a price drop they instead just added in Animal Crossing in the bundle... if wii sales go down they may just offer more in the package instead of lowering the price.

DS has been out for almost 4 years and it's only seen one price drop. but that was because sales dipped a little, Wii might not have a price drop till next year at the earliest.

probably not for ages. there is a shortage at the moment so they'll need more money to invest into it, and once the fix the shortage, they'll have the new wii model underway, which will probably be at the same price due to added hardware, and even then, it will take a bit before it will drop in price maybe 2 years from now

Actually that was the regular DS when the lite came out. Regular DS disappeared. DS Lite price hasn't dropped unless a store chain decides to sell it for less to get more sales.

It will be when they start working on and promoting a new Nintendo Console. Until then they will just make bundle packs with the Wii at a discounted price. The current price of the Wii simply cannot be beat.

Why should there be any price drop anyway? It's 250$.. The cheapest system. You think it is hard to find one now.. If they drop the price it would be impossible to find one. Lol.

yeah they dont need to, PS3 did after minimum sales around the time wii was released

They could add an extra wiimote and nunchuck, thats a £40 saving.....like you say though, why should they?

wii doesnt need one, it selling so good,, the only console starving for one is ps3 ,, lol and like gamecube before it the price drops barely have an effect on ps3 sales,

It has been a hottie for 2 years, I guess they will drop the price a little bit, but not that much. It is always cheaper than ps3 anyway.

Not for a very long time...if I had to guess, I'd say sometime during summer 2009 at the earliest. I mean honestly: as long as the Wii keeps selling like crazy, there's no way Nintendo would drop the price.

they have no need to, so i say whenever sales go down.. not a little bit down, cause then theyd still be leading xbox and ps3 :P it has to be quiiiite a bit.

If you go out and try to be a Wii, it's still sold out at most stores. Maybe around the holidays the price will drop, especially if the Big N moves lots of units with a big buck title like Wii Fit. But until sales slow down, there's no reason to drop the price. People are still willing to drop the 250 with a smile on their face and without a complaint.

A price drop would only occur if sales were lower for a prolonged period of time. As to when that will happen, at the earliest, E3 09 is when that could be announced. Right at the holidays to bring in the new decade.

That's hard to predict. It will drop once it starts beind outsold, but I don't know if it will happen. But I'll say that they will drop its price before the holidays.
