I caught Regigigas with a pokeball. I ran out of all other balls and that was all I had left. I also caught a few legendaries with great balls. It might just be me, but I think great balls work better than ultra balls :P
I've caught Articuno, Moltres and Zapdos all with regular pokeballs. I also caught Giratina with a regular pokeball, but then I got excited and I accidentally turned off my DS :P
Yes, caught Ho-Oh, Raiku,Groudon,Kyogre, and Heatran with a pokeball. I froze or paralyzed them and got them to very low HP.( I got Groudon and Kyogre to low hp only )
Lugia, Zapdos, Moltres, and Mew (level 5 mew glitch) with Poke'balls. Took a while except for Mew obviously and I got lucky on Moltres, first try with the pokeball.
