This channel is basically just for players to review games?Kunlun
Yeah, but this is mostly just a way for them to advertise. I'm not very interested about it at all to tell you the truth.
Wii Ware, on the other hand.

"The Everybody's Nintendo Channel allows Wii users to watch trailers for games"
Advertising.
"and download demos and game patches for the Nintendo DS. In this capacity the channel works in a similar way to a DS Download Station."
Play a short demo of this game, then buy it. Again, advertising.
"Users can also rate games that they have played"
Hey, some people said this game was good. I should buy it. Advertising.
"and a search feature is also available to assist users in finding new games to try. Videos such as interviews, trailers, and commercials are also available on the channel."
"Which games should I get? Let's search through this channel. Oh, they say every game is great? Ok, so I should get every game then?" More advertising.
That's all this thing is for. Absolutely everything about this channel screams advertising. It's worse than Nintendo Power in the early 90's.
Again, I'm not very interested in this channel.

well yes it is advertising, but its great for anyone with a DS. Demos are fun, they kill time, and they do genuinely help you decide to buy a game because youve actually played it so you dont have to rely on someone else's opinion.

No, Wiiware has its own channel. And no, not "nuff said", it's still just advertisement. Read my previous post.

Advertisement isn't always a bad thing, though. This isn't just blatant in-your-face, buy-this-product advertising. It's supposedly tailored to your personal tastes. It's like the feature on Amazon that gives you suggestions for stuff you might like based on what you've already purchased. That kind of thing is actually helpful.
But of course, most of us know the games we're going to buy regardless of this stuff, so I can see why you're not excited about it.
But on the other hand, it might be handy if the number of WiiWare games skyrockets. Hopefully this channel includes WiiWare titles. Then it can give us suggestions, and we won't have to search through the (hopefully) hundreds of WiiWare games. And a "most popular" section would be great as well.

Exactly. I don't need to watch short, compressed trailers of games (remember the Metroid Preview Channel?) if I've already seen better trailers on websites like Gametrailers. Oh, and I don't have a DS, so I have no interest in the demos.
But I can see how this could be good for the "casual" gaming public (AKA, the people who don't come to forums and sites like this).

is there DS demoes? if so then nuff said once again. Advertisement is not bad if done right. GS has advertisement and they do it excellently. this channel seems to benefit Nintendo and inform its users and they also get advertisement. Whats so bad? I know this thing could evolve to much more. If you can set up which games you have and if they update it to show how much youve beaten or cool things like that it will be awsome.

"Evolve to much more"?
You mean, like, how the Everybody Votes Channel has evolved? Or the Check Mii Out Channel? It's going to be a way for them to advertise their products, nothing else. It's basically a bare-bones way for people who don't know anything about gaming sites to get information about Nintendo products. Sure, half-level demos of DS games might be nice for DS owners, but it's nothing more than a marketing ploy.
I can guarantee you that casuals are going to be picking up every game that they try a demo of, just because the half of a level that they played was fun (Demos show nothing about the overall quality of the game, and in many cases people will buy a game based off of what they thought of the demo, not knowing that reviewers have panned the game).
And I said I'm not interested in it, not that everybody shouldn't be interested in it. God, I didn't know I wasn't allowed to have an opinion about something.

You may not like it but you dont have good reason. you may not have a dS but 70 million people do. It has some cool game tracking and it is a good adition. Casuals dont buy alot of games this will help slightly but, its not in your face, you actually have to go to a channel to look at it, like you are exaggerating. If the advertising affects you dont download it. i think its great we can get a taste of the games and they should also add wii demos.

Again, because you must be blind (it's the only explanation because I've typed it 3 times already) I'll say it once more:
I said "I'M NOT INTERESTED". That statement does not equal to "everybody shouldn't be interested".
I've stated that this is MY OPINION, so yes, I do "have good reason" not to be interested: It is not in my interest.
I NEVER stated anything about how the majority wouldn't like it, I said this is a marketing ploy, which it is. Let people know what games are out, let them play a short demo of a game, this all just means more money for Nintendo. I never said "people won't be interested in this". Not even once.
Have I made it clear enough now?
I swear, next time I'm going to have to resort to putting on a puppet show with bright colors for you so you'll know what I'm saying. I couldn't possibly be any clearer.
And they won't add Wii demos without a harddrive. The files would be like half a gig. So unless they introduce a harddrive at E3, you can toss that dream right out the window.

What's wrong with you all of a sudden jumping on your high horse like that. Sure you have your opinion but you said it like if you were attacking. Nintendo channel will have a tracking system that will allow wii users to build a library of games they played/own, much like gamespot. This will be useful to other wii users to find info on games they are interested in. Not all people use sites like gamespot, this channel will be a service on the fly. I understand you were expressing your opinion, but so did the other posters.

I would love some WiiWare demos. I think it would make MOST sense to put demos there, because unlike Wii VC games which have already come out and we KNOW what they are, WiiWare games are brand new. So before I buy a game, I'd like to try it out.

I understand that demos are primarily an advertising tool. However they are a double edge sword in that there's a chance it could dissuade the consumer from purchasing your product as well. Some developers/publishers will refrain from making a demo just because of this.

Look, I felt personally attacked by your statement (whether it was intentional or not). And I'm sorry my opinion was enough for you to go out of your way to point it out. Sometimes people have different opinions. The only difference is that you said my opinion was wrong. I never said your opinion was wrong. I just felt that I was attacked.
But it's cool. I'm not having the greatest day today, so I was a bit on-edge eariler. I hope you don't take it as me suggesting "I hate you" or anything.

You're absolutely right. But I guess my point is that the majority of people who are actually going to use this service are the types of people who would enjoy these demos.
What I mean is, if you see a demo for a game that interests you, you'll try it. I doubt someone who isn't a fan of "Cooking Mama" will download that demo, because they probably weren't planning on trying that game anyway. But for the people who are into it, yeah, they're typically going to enjoy it, and most likely make the purchase down the line because of it.

Look I didnt come to hurt your feelings. I was just disagreeing. Disagreeing is a common thing esp in the Wii forums. Maybe I was being ass and i was being blunt but what I meant by the quote was that your complaints lack reason. It may have a good marketing affect tagged to it but it is a tracking system and with a bunch of little features most importantly demos. Compared to the other channels its basically gold. And based on the little improvements in browsing spped and things like that this could turn into something better.
