Bit of a statement to by saying that they can do ps3 performance like liar plus more. Any idea's on what the project game will be? I'm curious to see what they can do with this and what they get out of the Wii.

There were a few rumours about it being a new Kid Icarus

I hope it's an airborne Star Fox game though. They did Rogue Squadron well on the GC which is similar.

Who knows. They also said it was a casual game, so I wouldn't get too excited about it...

I hate to pigeon hole Factor 5 to the genre, but a new Pilotwings developed by Engelbrechten & Co. would be absolutely fantastic.

If there's a group that's up to the task of pushing a console to its processing limits, Factor 5 is it.

Pilotwings was a great game but i can hardly see that ever being released again. I get the feeling this will be some sort of flight game, i try not to get me hopes up about it but with F5 behind it who knows. Im more interested in what there saying they can get out of the wii itself when comparing it to the PS3. I mean ok it can never be the same as what the ps3 or 360 chuck out but to do something thats close would be an accoplishment and a testament that the old gen isn't quite dead yet. It all lies on the title they launch and how well its controls will work and the mager one... if it sells.

I would rather see the Kid Icarus IP reborn vis-a-vis Retro Studios. With regards to sheer artistic direction and optimizing traditional gameplay mechanics, Retro is second to none. It would be my secondary preference that such a Retro-led Kid Icarus project be tailor-made for the hard core gaming demographic. Perhaps an action adventure laden with RPG elements and an epic storyline. I have more faith in Retro when it comes to developing appropriately well-felt gameplay and controls necessary in traditional control schemes for a more hard core audience.

As for Factor 5, again, I believe their talent lies in their technical know-how. I suggested Pilotwings because I believe that this particular IP has more potential appeal for a broader audience (e.g. "casual gamers"). I remember the first time I played Pilotwings 64 for the N64 and being stunned by fantastic visuals matched only by the amazing feeling of freedom alloted by the game. In what otherwise was very simple game in terms of gameplay design, by way of technical wizardry, Pilotwings 64 was a free-felt experience like no other. I believe Factor 5 deserves a canvas by which they are presented as little design restraint as possible - in the case of existing Nintendo IPs, no other franchise fits the bill like Pilotwings. With Pilotwings, Factor 5 is given an unencumbered opportunity to innovate equally in the areas of both controls and visuals while at the same time being encourage to improve in an area they've already proved themselves in: simulated flight. Unlike Kid Icarus (or any of Nintendo's cannon-driven IPs), you wouldn't have to deal with the criticisms of fanboys with Pilotwings.

According to what we know it's a casual game that requires a killer engine, which is downright mind blowing.

Which brings to me to my next suggestion: Nintendo should directly sponsor the development of accessible middleware designed by Factor 5.
