My favorite was Linebeck from Phantom Hourglass, but he wasn't an option. I went with Midna, because I really liked her character design, and she actually hada pretty cool story behind her. I like King of Red Lions, but I never felt any particular bond with him.
The king of Red Lions is the only one that wasn't annoying in some way out of those lot, and you forgot the owl who imo was the best...(although he doesn't actually help you much)

the owl was awesome, but i don't think of him as really a guide character, to me they kind of have to be giving you advice mid-dungeon in order to really qualify in this catagory
I see that Minda is winning. Why is this? Sue she was helpful, but did you seriously find yourself caring about her, or considering her anything other than a weapon? Daphenous was just plain cool, and I almost teared up when he sacrificed himself. Did ANYONE give a crap when ganon seemed to have killed Minda? I doubt it.

One of my favorite parts of the game was running around hyrule in the rain trying to save midna, while Midna's lament was playing in the background (most kickass song everrr)

yes i did care, i was pissed at ganon, just like i was pissed at sephiroth when **spoiler alert** he stabbed aeris, only not quite as much
The Girl in the Photo of the new Zelda game! She will be the next guide and she is my favorite because she might be the master sword...she looks cooler than the king of red lions (i hated him for no reason)...she has a glow to her...she doesnt look annoying...she looks like she acctually likes link...The only thing that would be annoying if she was like Link protect I'm scared every second(thats not a typical guide trait so ! Although she might not be the guide it would be cool if i was right!

The Giant Owl from Link's Awakening, was only there to point you in the right direction and that was it. Not too annoying, not too helpful. Its like he understood he had one purpose and that was it.

King of Red Lions by a pretty big margin. KoRL was awesome because he would offer just the right advice at the right time, in order to move along in the story and/or make use of a new item, feature, etc. His role in the game was also significant, but it wasn't one that tried to take over the game in anyway. In the end, Link was still the biggest star. Plus, his advice wasn't something along the lines of "maybe I should look at the map" when I actually took the time to ask for help. :P
