FF3 or Etrian Odyssey?

It depends what kind of RPG player you are.

If you want a big arc swooping story then get FF

If you want more of the old school RPG where you're on a quest simply for the quests then pick EO

That's because the present day gamer is soft compared to gamers back in the day Damn straight, I just finished FF3. Completely old school, random battles and the end game diffulculty with no saves is very, very hard.  It took me four days and many hours to level up enough and figure out the right jobs to defeat the very last guy.  Im sure there are other ways to do it, but I ended up with 3 warriors, all with dual weapons and one healer.  Even that hard to do.

Etrian Oddessey will be my next purchase.  Looks completely old shool, I havnt mapped an RPG since Phantasy Star one or Miracle Warriors for the old SMS.  Those were also punishing RPG's with alot of challenge.  Screw the hint books and walk-thrus.
