ff3 wi fi problems

when i tried to put in a friend code it keeps coming up with an error, does anyone else have this problem?

I have a different problem I'm able to register friend codes and for some reason people can send me mail but when I try their name is gray and I can't send anything back. The wifi must be messed up in the game or something
