FFTA2 Help please!!!

So i recently unlocked the Cannoneer calss, but I can't wield ANYof his guns!! It says i need the hand-cannon for it, but it tunrs out he can't wield that either! does the job require two empty slots or something?

well, it is a two handed weapon. you cant put it in an empty slot if you have a weapon/shield in the other slot.
