I'm Filipino but I don't live in the Philippines right now so I can't really figure out if they are updated on games there, but they should have Elite Beat Agents since like, it was released sometime last year.

Kababayan! May DS Lite ako, taga davao ako . Mahal ang mga original DS games dito! P2,400-P3000. unfair masyado.

(English Translation)

I have a DS Lite, im from davao city philippines. Original DS games here are expensive, it costs about $50-$60 (P2,400-P3000) a game, its so unfair! But some stores are selling Copied DS games, they're more cheap about $20-$30 (P1,400) but there's no instruction booklet on it and its built different when you compare it to an original DS cartridge.

-English-

You said so, its hard here. They are really good in pirating IMPORTED games here. Thats a good decision, you should buy there because its cheaper and it is original.

The United Arab Emirates (also the UAE or the Emirates) is a Middle East country situated in the southeast of the Arabian Peninsula in Southwest Asia on the Persian Gulf, comprising seven emirates. Before 1971, they were known as the Trucial States or Trucial Oman, in reference to a 19th century truce between Britain and several Arab Sheikhs. The name Pirate CoastHDI, for the Asian continent. has also been used in reference to the area's emirates in the 18th to early 20th century. It borders Oman and Saudi Arabia. don't you know that most filipino gamers are blinded by sony. when they talk or refer to gaming there's only one word that comes to their mind and that's "playstation". they have no knwoledge of what wii and ds is. all they know is PSP, PS2, PS1, PS3. Most didnt even know what the N64 and GC was. They also think it was Sony who made the rumble and analog stick used on controllers this gen when it was really Nintendo. Philippines is a land of blinded gamers by sony. Nintendo never gets much credit here.

I think a reason behind that might be because the Philippines is a country full of poverty, and people couldn't exactly "copy" Gamecube games because of the disc format, so yeah, instead, people bought those pirated PS2 games for like, 5 pesos and stuff while I had to go and buy PS2/GC games for like, 1999 pesos or something like that :P

No, I don't really give away my e-mail because, well, I just don't (and my parents are rather iffy about it). Also, I'm not a 3rd year high school student, I'm in Grade 7 because currently I live in Canada (I am Filipino though) and High School starts after finishing Grade 8.

If you would like to contact me, I think a PM through Gamespot's PM system would be just fine ^_^

I'm a DS owner, and I have a Filipino mother(not sure about my father, but I believe he's a typical Anglo-Saxon). I live in the United States, though. Close enough? (What's it like on the other side of the Pacific, anyway? I have family over there that I've never even met, and chances are it'll stay that way for another year or so due to ridiculous plane ticket prices. I might get my chance come next May, though-I've been proposed to get a trip to the Philippines as a graduation gift.)

I have lived in the philippines all my life but im staying in canada for the summer, storesthat updates pretty frequently are the data blitz branches although they are pretty pricey (but in the branch i bought my DS games i got 10-20% discount for paying in cash, unsure if it applies now). Also if you want cheap DS games you can always go to greenhills in virra mall, theplaceif you want to get a professionally copied game. I have a friend who bought fake games and the cartridge is the same as the DS, and she bought a cartridge for around 4000 pesos (around 80$) and in the cartridge has 10 games (pretty good ones as well, she said she picked the games that could be on the cartridge, so games like pokemon diamond, sonic rush, trauma center etc are on it) so all in all it was a good deal. also i tested each game out and they worked pretty well, even the games that required online capabilites worked like the real ones.

My situation is quite similar to yours, except, even back in the Philippines, I knew about Nintendo (and it was annoying as HECK listening to my friends keep bashing Nintendo because the games are too "expensive" since you can't "pirate/copy" them because of the different format of discs

wow who would have thought so many Filipinos actually visit this site! Although most are now living in other countries and not in their homeland. Well what can i say, thats the trend.

unfortunately yes we here in the Philippines have been blinded by Sony. I was once playing my DS and a guy comes up to me and asks "ano yan? parang PSP?" (What's that? Something like a PSP?). DOH! i told him it was an NDS. but he didnt catch it the first time and asked me to repeat it! plus nintendo isnt so popular due to the fact that cartridges are really expensive.

Wow, never thought we were so many. :P I favored a DS over a PSP and have some friends who have DS over PSPs, so no, not all Filipinos are into Sony and a little bit of Microsoft. XD

X_X Games are so damned expensive though, so is the DS itself. I bought mine for cheap over at Greenhills Shopping Center for 7k. Better deals O: Good gods I saw the DS being sold for 9k at some other stores :|

I left the Phil's when I was really young (18months I think) and moved to Australia. Been here ever since. I was raised playing the NES, then we got a GENESIS. We then bought a PSone and I've been SONY ever since. I have both a PSP and DS, and they both have their advantages and disadvantages. I dont prefer one over the other. I guess it really depends on how you were brought up during your childhood to prefer one company over the other.

Not really. Go to shops that sell Wiis. PS3s are US PRICED (which is god damn rare, note that the 60GB is just 30k php (600 USD). Wii's, both Japanese Converted and American, are still expensive, usually around the 16k range (for a modded Japanese one) to 20k (for a US) one. Still, PS2 is still selling a lot, and prob with DS is that it doesn't have enough brawlers. Filipinos love brawlers. And MMOs. Lol. And the nintendo community is growing here. Go to pinoy-n.com to see what I'm talking about.

Known naman ang Nintendo dito ah. GAMEBOY, diba?

Yay! I'm 13 years old too! We're the same age! ^_^

kool, can i have ur email or somethin so maybe we could be in touch? are u a 3rd year high school student too?

No, I don't really give away my e-mail because, well, I just don't (and my parents are rather iffy about it). Also, I'm not a 3rd year high school student, I'm in Grade 7 because currently I live in Canada (I am Filipino though) and High School starts after finishing Grade 8.

If you would like to contact me, I think a PM through Gamespot's PM system would be just fine ^_^

Thereare Philippine schools here in the Emirates, we follow the school system of the Phils however the lessons are far more advanced. I can graduate when I'm 4th year, but If I'm going to study college here I need to take grade 11 and 12 as a requirement. What's the time in the US? here in the Emirates is GMT+4. I was supposed to be grade 7 too

so buy cra, but u can wait for other rpgs coming for the ds

pero must buy din siya
