alright folks, im about to buy this game after a little bit of saving up, and im wondering about the job system, is it hard to get used to or is it really simple to pick up and understand because all these jobs seem confusing and im not sure which ones to choose, furthermore i would like to inquire about the job levels, does your job level remain the same for every job ex. warrior job lv 20 and when you switch to another job your job level returns to 0 or does it stay the same for every job? thanks for your help folks!

PS how hard is this game really?

it stays at the level it originaly was so dont worry. and the jobs are pretty much easy to figure out. EX: you like a warrior, lots of armor and weapons to equip, thenstick with it.

Believe it or not, this is my first FF game

I love rpg's, and I got to say , I'm loving this game. I bought it a few weeks ago and its the only thing thats been in my ds for awhile. Just get past the somewhat monotonous beginning and it will be a great edition to your ds library

For the job levels...

The farther in the game you get the more jobs you can become. Its not too complicated and it explains it all in the instruction book. Probably what you want at the beggining is at least2 heavy hitters like a monk or a warrior, a white mage, and maby a black mage. Your free to experiment any way you want, but when you switch jobs your job level goes back down to zero.

this is my first final fantasy game and i got it recently but i enjoy it. Although the boss battles can be tough...

I would reccomend it:)

I'm another person for whom this is my first-ever FF game and I love it! I like the experimental aspect of the job system. I like to mess with different armor and whatnot to get the right balance so this is another reason why it's a good game for me.

Bought it two days ago. I had played through FF I & II for the GBA, and this game plays extremely similar, apart from the 3D graphics. But I don't like the fact that the top screen has nearly no use. You play on the bottom screen, and the top screen is only used for video clips, the world map, and one or two dialog sentences. You'll look at it 10% of the time. Apart from that, it's a decent game. Not great, but decent.

Mmm..I'm a 'veteran' FF player, the jobs aren't that hard to figure out, like any other FF-job system game. The job level switches back to 0 when you pick another job, but if you were to pick the same job again it would have the same lvl.

ex. You're a warrior, Jlvl 35 you want to switch to a Dragoon, you switch lvl 0. Then you want to be a warrior again, switch lvl 35.
My mind's kind of blurry and I'm not 100% sure because I haven't played FF III for almost a year now.

Yeah, don't worry about the job system. It's incredibly easy to understand. I think this game's hard mostly becuase you can go all the way through a dungeon pretty easily, then you get to a boss that wipes you out and you have to start all over again. Still a great game, particularly with the touch screen controls.

The job thing is easy to understand just do what you like with it. My problem was I wanted to have the very best team so I went to every one else to find out what that was, well people have all sorts of ideas and belive me I have tried them all and the best one is .......................... what you want it to be, just don't swich around to much because then nobody will be stong in one area and it will cause problems.

The job leveling system is really to understand, but if you one of those people who want every job at lvl 99, it's quite grueling and...boring. Thats why i've never beaten the game, because i can't beat a FF without having max of whatever there is to do. So i stopped maxing out my jobs right after i got the Dragoon..The level is set on the job you put it to, even when you switch back and forth with jobs. Your characters like ' main ' level stay exactly the same, though. So thats good. The game itself, it really easy to me so far, with a Lvl 99 monk, with retalite it does 9999 to the boss fight, so it's really easy for me. :D So like a 4 / 10.
