Yeah, I imported the Japanese version back in summer.
It's a wonderful game~ Lots of adventure, and many likable characters~
It's my first ff CC game, so I don't know how it is compared to previous CC games .
What I found most interesting in this game, is the use of race abilities. Although some characters in other FF games do have their own special abilities, they usually don't come in handy until the characters are engaged in battles (well, since they're turn-based). But in "Ring of Fates," race abilities are used to help dungeon exploration, and it feels a bit like playing a Zelda game. :D
The only complaint I have about this game is that Cherinka (the main character's twin sister) is not a playable character :?.
The game should come out in the US by March. I played the Japanese version and I admit it is probably the best game I have ever played. It will be much better when I can finally understand what the story line is. On Wi-Fi you will be able to play up to 4 players through story mode or something like that, I have never played wifi on the *** version.(mostly cause I dont know which menu is the wifi menu). I think this game is the best because it is adventurous, a great dungeon crawler, great graphics, wifi, it will most likley have a great story, and..., should I go on?ta11on
Um... Personally, I don't think wifi is necessary for this game, especially for those of us who imported the Japanese version, for a few reasons.
First, in order for other CC players to meet you via wifi, they also need the Japanese version of the game. Japanese and English games are not compatible in wifi mode :?. Second, the only thing you can do in wifi mode is exchanging costumes and Moogle face paint with other players. The multi-player feature that you mentioned does not need wifi; it can be accomplished with DS wireless communication (the kind that players need to stay together within 10 metres of range). ;)
I think the game is already pretty awesome without wifi. :D
PS. To access the wifi menu, you need to talk to a Moogle. In most cases, you can only meet them when you're collecting Moogle stamps in dungeons. So, if you don't find a Moogle in a dungeon, you miss a chance of gaining access to the wifi menu, but I guess you can always go back to the dungeon, even after beating it. Moogles are usually found close to save points in dungeons.
