Awesome. Looks like it's going to be exactly as I expected (along with an Etrian Odyssey-like Bazzar system).
Unlike other sites...ahem...I won't mention which ones...but their initials are GS...who faulted the game for being itself, IGN seems to give the game an even-handed look and a well-deserving review
I've been playing this game (Japanese), it's pretty good.
The interface is much tidier than the GBA version. :D
And you can create weapons in shops by using the items you obtain after winning battles.

Yea, I thouht GS' review was just awful. IGN seemed to know more what they were going on about, even if it was short.
fiscope pretty much said it all. This game is AWESOME! if your a FF tactics fan, u will definately LOVE this title.. it is BEAUTIFUL, wayyy better than the one on the GBA. i love the one on the GBA, and i love this one even more! its awesome trust me. the only reason i think it doesnt get a full score is prolly because of lack of stylus controls, which is totally fine with me since i wouldnt like any stylus control on any of my tactics game.
PS: this game tops hoshigami, rondo of swords, luminous arc etc etc by alot seriously. Graphically its really much nicer than most 2d games on the ds, and gameplay is really neat.
Gamespot gave it a 7 i think, i don't hate the score, but i don't think it was dinged on the right things.
The judge system is an interal part of the game that is supposed to enrich the experience. you can't just throw attack out all willy nilly in this game, there are certain rules of engagement you have to follow. this bassicly makes the game a little harder to play, it mixes up the fights and it can destroy you if you just hammer out the same boring strat.
they also complained that it was too long. since when did 20 hours max become the norm for anything RPG?
Nintendo Power gave it a 7.0 as well >_> After playing the first Tactics Advance, how is that even possible?
[QUOTE="Chunkman"][QUOTE="Stevie_Q"]I love the series but I have to decide between this and The World Ends With YouStevie_Q
Yeah, I'm in the EXACT same dilemma, WHAT DO WE DO?!
I DON'T KNOW!
Permission to freak out?
pretty obvious, TWEWY is a all new good game, and FFTA2 is a 'has always and will always' be good game =) hope that helps.
I think when they say the game is too long, they don't really understand, when your playing it through, it shouldnt feel like its gonna end very soon... just like in all tactics games. it should feel never ending hahaha.. thats where 300+ gameplay hours come from lol...
