Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn Should i get it?

I'm thinking of getting this, because I have gotten very addicted to the advance wars games, and they're borht made by the same company, I was thinking of getting Radiant Dawn. I'm just wondering is it as difficult as some of the reviews say it is?

this type of thing should be in the recommendations thread that is stickied at the top. But I will tell you this: people greatly over exaggerate the difficulty in Radiant Dawn. After Part 1 the game becomes much easier and is not anything worth complaining over. Radiant Dawn is an amazing game in its own right and usually lasts 40 hours on one play through of the story.Phantom5800

I was wondering the same thing today. But I'd get it's predesscor instead. From what I've read - graphics have not much improved from the gamecube version; the storyline is horrible; the diffuculty level is intense; it hasen't tried to utilize the Wii-mote's capability; and plus the GC version looks like an overall better game not to mention it being cheaper esspecially if you buy it used. You'd get the same, or possibly better, experience version from the GC game.Lyphe2k

I'd have to disagree with you there. I really didn't like Path of Radiance. But Radiant Dawn is a lot better in a lot of ways. The graphics may not be much better, but they still are a little. It's a bit longer. The characters are A LOT more interesting than Path of Radiance and it's just all around more enjoyable.

Play Path of Radiance first -- it'll make RD's story more enjoyable. You should definitely get Radiant Dawn, though -- it's better than Path of Radiance and Sacred Stones (haven't played the first GBA one.) The only problems I had with RD were the supports... sure, the graphics could have been better but I always turn off the animations anyway.

As for difficulty... part one is the hardest, but you could always play on easy.

I wouldn't say Path of Radiance is ABSOLUTE to know what's going on in Radiant Dawn... but yes, it does help.

Anyone who says the game is "too hard" though, is a n00b. sure it's hard, but if a game is relentlessly easy, who's gonna enjoy it... the n00bs?

I think pleasing the hardcore gamers would be much moer satisfying... think Melee vs. Brawl.

that aside (since I love Brawl too) Radiant Dawn rocks. you just need to be a good strategist, and know what charactersdo nto deserve to see the light of day.

Oh, and you also need to know that some characters, like Sanaki, Nephenee, Mia, or Titania are one-woman armies and will rape anyone in their path... but that's just my opinion.

a bit longer=twice the length of Path of Radiance.

I injured myself from sitting still for too long while playing this game. Yes, this game is worth injuring yourself for.

it's not worth 50 dollars. If you can get it for a cheaper price and aren't exepecting much more then a GC game only put on Wii, then by all means get it. The difficulty isn't so bad, but I did play it on easy. You just need to think a bit more before you use a guy. The story is a bit boring, I will give it that. The game isn't as bad a a few reviews claim but it doesn't blast you out of this world.

I agree too.

If you enjoy Advance Wars so much then I would highly recommend Fire Emblem. The game play is similar but has many different aspects to it, so it would seem both new and familiar to you. I was addicted to Fire Emblem, then noticing that Advance Wars was similar, I picked that up and became addicted to it as well.

you will die often, sometimes in the end of a long mission but they'll give you so many buff units that it'll get easier later on. i find FE games to have not much replay value. i rented it and had to extend the rent a few days to beat it but that's because my brother played too (so thats like beating it twice in a week and a half).Games-Sage

definately get it if your a fan of turn based strategy. just dont expect any wii specific features.

Won't argue there, the game is fun. The only thing that really got to me was the plot, it was really bad to me. Anyway, if you ask me, you should get the first one if you don't already have it. Not much of a difference and the story line is much better.

Ever since I saw an FE game in Nintendo Power, I became obsessed with every game that came out afterwards, and I'm sure this one is no different!
