First Update

I just got my Nintendo Wii yesterday. I just connected it to the wireless internet since I got a wireless modem. I went to update it and its been about and hour but the progress bar has not moved and I can't even turn it off by pressing the power button. What should I do? Just be more patient?

If it is not moving at all then something is up. You probably need to pull the cord from the back and let is sit for a minute or two then plug it back up and try again on a full connection.Slingblade1170

Pulling the cord does not hurt electronics as much as people say it does. Its okay to pull the plug its not going to hurt it. I have studied on electronics for years and trust me it doesnt hurt unless your saving a game and sometimes it doesn't even bother that.Slingblade1170

anyway, yeah it's not working, could be a timed out internet connection or a choke in the wii, who knows, but what i do know is it's needing to restart

It's NOT normal for the update to take long.

Just change the channel on the router to either one or 11
